Preventative Solution
Luckily my steering only had minimal wiggle, but installing these made the connection solid. I can see why the factory design can cause steering looseness as you rack up miles on your Ram truck. These inserts fill the gap keeping the hardware from moving and helping to prevent steering slop and worse the death wobble. I installed these as a preventative measure so I don't have to worry about this issue with Ram steering down the road. Installation is easy. Just tap them into place with a hammer. I also installed a hose clamp around the shaft to prevent these inserts from vibrating out.
