Product Description
Gently toasted pecans, as in this granola, have a lovely warm, golden taste which is better balanced by black treacle (molasses) than any other syrup. I use just a little, so as not to affect your blood sugar too much, but that adds the trace elements left behind after the more refined sugars are removed. Pecans, like other nuts, are good for you because they contain anti-oxidants along with selenium, vitamin E and zinc. But it’s not just because of the health benefits you should try this granola - it was category winner at the 2009 Great Taste awards. It’s great with yoghurt for breakfast, but try sprinkling on vanilla ice cream as a dessert - that’s a revelation.All of Lizi's granolas are specially formulated to have a low GL (glycaemic load) per serving. This means that unlike many breakfast cereals the energy is released slowly, keeping you feeling fully for longer. A single 50g serving should keep you going until lunchtime and avoid the mid morning cravings that come with so many other cereals.
