LIFE CHANGING MOMENTS...
Luna Wright is a lot of things, but sweet and trusting isn’t on the list. However, she’s a sucker for the underdog and a hard-luck story. Adopted at birth, with scant knowledge of her biological family, she’s created her own inner circle, a motley crew which includes her bestie Willow, to help her run the struggling but charming Apple Ridge Farm. With a farm-to-table café as well as a menagerie of rescued animals (complete with a baby goat who keeps escaping to the pantry to eat the secret stash of decidedly not organic potato chips), it’s the best home she’s ever known. But when the owner Silas, who they secretly call The Grinch, passes away, Luna discovers the farm is now under control of his investment manager, the enigmatic Jameson Hayes….and her. And that Silas had many, many secrets. Now Luna’s carefully controlled corner of the world is threatened and she—along with some help from her friends—has to dig deep to find true strength and the real meaning of love and family.MY THOUGHTS:The delightful story The Bright Spot takes the reader through the farm that our character Luna inherits, (50% of), and how she manages to work with the other owner, Jameson Hayes, who happens to be a hunky guy who also grabs her interest right away. Can they work together? Will they fall in love? The usual trope of difficult situations that can change the lives of characters kept me intrigued throughout.I loved getting to know Luna, Jameson, and the other characters on the farm, including the animals. A 5 star read.***

"No one should have to change who they are to be loved."
Luna has been running a run down farm for the past five years in Sunrise Cove. She has managed to build an amazing family of her friends and co-workers building up the farm for Silas. Her sassy grandmother is among that found family. But things take a turn when Silas passes away. Luna is shocked to find out that Silas was really her biological grandfather. Luna has always known she was adopted and wanted to find her biological mother as part of understanding why she is the way she is. And now, Luna feels like this opportunity is gone forever.Silas does leave Luna half ownership of the farm. The other half belongs to Jameson. Jameson has been Silas' accountant ever since he graduated from college. Jameson has been loyal to Silas ever since Silas "saved" him. Silas found him when he was 15 having run away from home. Silas took him in and encouraged him to go back to school and supported him. This story is about accepting who you are. You will find yourself falling in love with not only Luna and Jameson but all of the misfits in their found family. I will be honest and admit that I struggled with the beginning of the book. But I also blame the fact that I am also in grad school and it was a stressful time when I started the book.

I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more!
I can always count on Jill Shalvis to make me laugh – hard – while reading one of her books, and The Bright Spot doesn’t disappoint. I loved this story with all its feels, and ups and downs, and crazy characters.Luna Wright is amazing. She is kind, she is smart, she loves all the people in her orbit. Her dog, Sprout, is just a hoot! And OMG, DZ, the baby goat, opens the book on a high note. And you’ll have to read the story to know what DZ stands for. Again, sidesplitting laughs.Although we don’t get to actually “meet” him, Silas Wittman owns the farm that Luna runs and he passes away. Enter Jameson Hayes, who worked for Silas, to try to help Luna out with her inheritance – and then some. Both Luna and Jameson have had tough beginnings in their lives but they really are perfect for one another. Loved, loved, loved them! And Sprout. And DZ. A wild, crazy ride that has lots of feels, ups, downs, characters that will make you shake your head (and maybe your fist!), and furry animals to love. Highly recommend this book.

Cute with deeper themes
The Bright Spot is a cute story with deeper subjects included. Luna is the glue that keeps a whole farm together, taking care of employees, animals, the business - all while trying to keep afloat. When the owner of the farm dies, Luna inherits half of it. A finance manager from LA inherits the rest. And Luna learns that she has found her birth grand father - only after he passed away.Luna is close to most of the employees at the farm, and now, she's afraid to share with them that she's a half owner, because she doesn't want to become the same kind of person Silas was. At the same time, the chemistry between her and Jameson is completely off the charts. But Luna does not want to mix business with pleasure. Plus, Jameson might decide to sell his part of the farm off and leave, just like most other people in Luna's life have done so far.If you're up for a sweet romance with complicated relationships, and high stakes about keeping employment for several people, The Bright Spot is your story.

Luna, her menagerie and her misfits are addictive.
Meet Luna, her menagerie, and the wacky misfits she calls friends who help her run Apple Tree Farm. Luna’s world has just come crashing down. Not only does she find out her late boss was actually her paternal grandfather, she’s inherited half of his farm. Enter Jameson. She initially thought he was just a stranger in a suit. So what happens when she realises he has inherited the other half of the farm. Even worse he brings news the farm is running at a loss, for Luna lives and breathes the farm. Her upbringing leaves her closed off and makes it difficult for her to trust. With an intense attraction between her and Jameson, will she be able to trust him not only with the farm, but also her heart? This is a cute, adorable charming, wacky, feel good story. Not only did it brighten my day, it was also a fun read. You can’t help but fall in love with Apple Tree farm. It drew me in so much I would definitely visit it again.
