Turned out ok
For what started out as the hooks falling off after hanging up my sliders only after a few mins, and later not sticking every time I tried, after a couple of days I tried again and they ended up staying on. Not sure of the physics of it, perhaps the adhesive needed to set into the door for longer before hanging shoes on. Overall happy with the product now that the hooks are staying on, they look aesthetically pleasing also. Not sure how well these would work with a pair of heavy boots but for quick outdoor shoes that clutter the back door, these are very handy.
