Really slow
It does work but it's really slow. Your average phone is substantially faster. The datasheet that comes with it says it updates 10 times per second. In reality, it's more like once every 2 seconds. It seems to work fine on the highway but accelerating slowly, it looks like it's going up smoothly and then it'll jump 5-10 mph. When slowing down at a normal rate, you'll be stopped and the speedo will still show 10-20mph. With a manual transmission, I used to use my speed to help determine which gear to be in after a turn or an aborted stop like when the light turns green halfway into your stop. That's totally not possible with this speedo sender since it's way too slow. If you have trees fairly close to any roads you drive on, this will be worthless on those roads. I'm not talking about dirt roads with tree cover, even just 2 lane roads with trees surrounding them will render this inoperable. My phone still registers accurate speeds on these roads inside my car.Ultimately, it's good enough for now but I'll be searching for a more accurate solution.

Speedometer jumps using this.
It works as long as your speed is steady. When speeding up or slowing down it seems to update every two seconds which drives me crazy. Waste of money. I’ll be taking this out of my truck eventually. Maybe it would be acceptable for a boat or something else but not a car.

Haven't installed it. I hope it works . The cable is on the stiff side. Finding a spot in the might be a challenge being it has to be in an open spot to work.
