Ramones: An American Band

Very good book to understand the story of Ramones. If you want to go further into the understanding of punk and american music you should read this book. Perfect condition both cover and paper.

The Ramones. Best punk band ever.An attempt to tell their story through interviews with as many people as possible. Only Johnny Ramone's autobiography might be better.

If you already know quite a bit about the Ramones this book won't tell you that much more.There are a few stories/quotes I hadn't heard before but with a band that had lasted this long it's inevitable that most of the books content is stuff you're familiar with.The majority of the book is about the first four albums (as is usual when people write about the Ramones) but not enough is dedicated to the later years and it only goes up to about 1993.Bessman is obviously a fan but his 'the Ramones can do no wrong' style of writing does get a bit tiresome.At the end of the day this isn't the greatest book for the greatest band - maybe now with Joey gone a newer up to date better version will be written.
