Sturdy and Simple to Use
It take only four screws to assemble the copy stand, and it works smoothly and easily. I needed this for a somewhat unusual reason: I need to digitize a large group of fifty year old black and white negatives and edit them for publication.. They have been stored in file pages, so I am putting the pages on a lightbox to photograph the negatives; then the images are inverted on on my laptop. The copy stand speeds up the process by being easy to adjust with one hand while looking through the mounted camera's viewfinder.

Seems sturdy enough.
Seems sturdy enough, time will tell.

Carriage made of plastic, bends.
I'm using a Canon 5D Mk II and the plastic carriage flex is such that it will not keep the camera orthogonal to the base plate. I added a bungie cord to hold the camera straighter (although it's still not orthogonal). The carriage also does not stay in place so I have to use a clamp to prevent it moving on the column. Note that I have taken off the carriage extender as per the instructions because my camera is heavy.

DESIGN + BUILD QUALITY BOTH EXCELLENT
This is a very well-designed and equally well-built copy stand. I am using it with a Fuji X100F camera to photograph hundreds of rolls of color negative film to make printed contact sheets using VueScan software. This copy stand is key to the project. Looked at other models that cost less, but opted for this one because of apparent build quality and am well pleased with my choice.

Very solid construction
This stand is heavy duty! Very impressed with how solid the mechanism is. The part that attaches the camera to the stand is plastic and really should be metal but overall it’s a good set up
