Great "active" earbuds
The media could not be loaded. Overall, I’ve been very impressed with the Jabra Elite 8 Active earbuds. What I like:- The fit is excellent once you choose the correct tips (I needed the middle size ones that were pre-fitted, my 18 year-old daughter needed the small ones – swapping them was very easy). I feel much more confident that they won’t fall out when exercising. There’s a noticeable resistance when taking the buds out, highlighting the good snug fit. Make sure you try out the different sizes; the small tips were noticeably too small for me as the noise cancelling wasn’t as effective.- The noise cancellation (ANC) is great; if I have music playing I can’t hear much background noise at all. When out running or walking, the ANC does a great job of masking the noise of traffic.- The sound quality is superb. Stereo works great, the sound is crisp and clear with decent treble and bass without the need to change settings in the app. I recommend turning the Spatial Sound on in the app for a more immersive sound.- Battery life, especially with the case recharging them around 4 times, is superb.- The buttons are nice and tactile; they can’t be pressed by accident like many other earbuds. What I don’t like (not a lot!):- The look is different to your conventional earbuds and can look a bit chunky in smaller ears.- I’ve not yet found a way to be able to control volume using the buds; you can personalise the button actions but don’t seem to be able to set volume up/down to one.If you want a quality pair of earbuds with great fit, sound quality, ANC and battery life, I’d thoroughly recommend these.

Fantastic earbuds, great sound
Bought when on a regular sale, so offered more value for money. I find the Jabra elite active range to be the best earbuds I’ve found. The Acitve 8s have a huge jump in battery life over the 75T and 65T, and a much more compact design and comfortable fit.The case can charge wired or by wireless charging (wired tends to be quicker to charge the case up though). The case and buds charge up quickly and top up charges last long enough to never have the batteries run out on you. I wear mine almost all day when working a desk job. From around 9am, with noise cancellation on, the low battery notification only kicks in around 4pm and at that point you still have 20% of battery. Without ANC, I get a few hours longer.People say these aren’t bassy enough, but I really don’t know how much bass they want or need. These have a really solid sound considering the size of the earbud. I have the bass at a lower level than the maximum and find I get a really good sound that doesn’t sound like small earbuds at all. The complaints could be from people who have not seated the earbuds solidly into the ear (correct size tips and ensuring you twist into place to lock them in your ear) as there is no bass if not worn correctly, but this is the same for most earbuds.Theres a decent equaliser to get the sound you want, along with customisable buttons and features. The white noise sounds are also a nice addition.Sadly, these are the last Active buds Jabra are going to make, so I will likely buy these again if available when the battery starts to degrade (which is inevitable after 2 years or so with such a small battery used so regularly). However, the fact I would buy these again in a heart beat is a testament to how good these are.Although full price is expensive, they are often on offer and the offer price is very good value. I certainly recommend these over AirPods or more well known brands such as Bose or Sony.

Very solid fit in the ears
The Jabra Elite 8 Active headphones are marketed specifically for staying in your ears during workouts, so let’s dive right into that aspect first: they stay in when working out! The texture of the buds could almost be describes as very slightly sticky, the plastic is very soft to the touch which lends itself to them being very grippy, and thus stay in your ears really well when working out. I’ve gone a few runs with them in my time with the headphones and they are the most solid fit of any headphones I’ve used in the last few years. On top of the grippiness, the earbuds are rated to be totally waterproof, and highly dust resistant. They are even tested against salt water! So you can be totally confident about taking them to the beach, and sand and water won’t get in and break your earbuds. Even the case is resistant to water and dust (though not to the same level as the buds).Sound quality wise, the headphones are pretty good. Bass is heavy which is good for pumping tunes when getting a sweat on so again, Jabra have targeted these headphones well. But I don’t feel audiophiles will be convinced by the soundscape.Lastly, the earbuds offer decent noise cancellation. It’s not the best I’ve heard on a set of headphones around the same price, but completely usable. I haven’t had the chance to test them on a plane, which would be the best environment to test, but trying around the house, it did a decent job against hoovers and hairdryers!
