I prefer using this low sugar sure gel. i can cut the sugar in half and it still tastes great.

Jelly and jam making is fickle. You got to earn those perfect sets by praying to the gods of fruit harvests and lots of practice. Worst case scenario you now have syrup for your waffles. Process your jars like instructed, not like your great aunt so and so did with practices deemed unsafe after WWII! Ain't nobody want to be gifted anything in Mason jar if it comes with a side of explosive diarrhea!

Your jam will be nice and thick if you use this brand. If you use other brands, it’ll be thin. This recipe could not be easier. I’ve made strawberry jam with it and planned to make peach jam as well.

This pectin for making jam or jelly is fabulous because it takes more berries or other fruit than it does sugar. Most pectins are the opposite so you are basically eating sugar! This pectin also does not cook the berries (or whichever fruit you’re using) because you add the crushed fruit after the sugar, pectin & water have boiled for 1 minute! Therefore your jam tastes like the fruit it’s made from!! I’ve used this for years as did my mother before me but it’s not always easy to find. And now that I live on Maui, it’s almost impossible! Lots of low sugar/low fat products are hard to find!!! You can’t go wrong with Sure Jell low sugar pectin!!!

Couldn't find them in the stores but ordering them helped so I could jam away. All of the fruit that is grown around could not go to waste. Everyone loves homemade jam. Giving the jam away as gifts is sure to make a neighbor friendly and surprised when it comes to unique gift-giving.
