Leslie Sansone: 4 Mile Power Walk
S**.
I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis (left knee) but have always loved power walking and wanted to get back into walking ..
Ok, where do I start...I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis (left knee) but have always loved power walking and wanted to get back into walking or some form of exercise (as I refuse to allow my osteoarthritis control me or take away my quality of life (I'm 49...geez, thought my body would start breaking down in my late 60s...smh). So I decided to purchase this DVD and boy am I glad I did! I gave myself a starting goal of 3 miles four days a week.I absolutely LOVE this DVD! I've been doing it now for the past 2months. I do 3 miles four days a week and am amazed how even those short miles add up by the end of the week/month!Going into my 3rd week, I really listened to Leslie when she said this is my walk DVD and I can make it what I want. As long as I keep my feet moving to the pace of the music. Hence, if I want to walk all the way through for my 3 miles, I can, or if I want to do knee lifts when she's on kicks, or do side steps while she's on knee lifts or kick backs, I can do any of the four basic moves I want and in any order I choose and I must say, this makes my workouts so much more fun and doable (not that it wasn't fun before). But there are days when I didn't want to do what she was doing or my knee was aching a little more that day than the day prior. So I choose to make my walk DVD what I want it to be and before I know it I've completed my 3 miles for the day (I'll soon work up to the total 4 miles one day...lol). I'm drenched by the time I've completed my walk. Since going into my 2nd month, I've incorporated light hand weights and again I do whatever exercises I choose but make sure to keep to the beat of the music and I do lots of arm exercises throughout my workout.Anyone on the fence about purchasing this walk DVD...BUY IT! This is by far the best workout DVD I've purchased (and I've purchased a lot...lol) I've tried hot yoga & pilates but realized (though both practices are great) the bends here and there caused my left knee to ache and regular walking (in the park or on a track) also brought discomfort to my left knee. But this walk DVD allows me to get the exercise I need, feel good about being able to do my favorite type of exercise...WALK...instead of making excuses and sitting on the couch and wishing the pounds away.I do not write a lot of reviews but had to do a review for this DVD. Hopefully my review helps anyone suffering from joint pain (osteoarthritis) but still desires to remain physically active and taking baby steps to get back and/or improve their quality of life!

My favorite WATP's DVD with results HIIT
I have many of Leslie videos. This one is probably for the intermediate level walker. This one is my favorite. I've used the program for 3 weeks I lost 14 pounds and many inches. Some reviewers complained about the camera man and cueing. For me it wasn't a big deal. If you've been walking with Leslie for a long time we should all know that some of her DVD's aren't always clear, or best quality, and we should all know that her cueing is off from time to time. If you've walked with Leslie for a while cueing doesn't matter because you know the order of her moves it's always back to the basics. People complain of her walkers, indicating she have new younger leaner walkers. So what.....changing up things from time to time isn't bad. If you've walked with her for a while you know that she have a variety of walkers all sizes. Stop focusing on the petty things and look for the results that's the whole purpose of the workout. New walkers might feel things are off a little, but after walking for a week; it shouldn't be a big deal it's basic.Update:I lost 45 pounds and many inches in 4 months. I also changed my eating habits.

false advertising of dvd
The dvd did not include any of the three workout options which are advertised : "4 mile power walk", "2 mile classic walk" and "2 mile power express". The single workout that was on the DVD that I received is a standard 2 mile power walk, regardless of which workout selected from the menu. After completing 1 mile, Leslie says "It feels good to be at mile 4!". I assume that part of two workouts were meshed together to create this particular dvd which only consists of a 2 mile power walk. The 2 mile power walk is very good and I recommend her workouts, but not this dvd (item#DV25022 by Anchor Bay).

Best Leslie Sansone workout, IMO
I own a lot of Leslie Sansone DVDs, and I've decided this one is the best. The difficulty of her DVDs can vary. Sometimes they're frustratingly easy (her earlier ones), but in the case of this one and a few others (the Belly Blast one is great too), she reaches the exact difficulty level I'm looking for--challenging, but not too much so.The first mile is easy, but that's because it's the warm up. After that, you hit the first 15-minute interval session. The moves seem really easy, but it gets your heart pumping. The same goes for the second 15-minute interval session. The last session is just a classic walking session, but there's still some bouncing and hopping around to keep your heart rate up. Then, like in all of her DVDs, she ends it with a stretch.Basically, I love it. For days when I feel like being really good, I go for the whole hour, but if I'm pressed for time I just mix and match three of the sessions for a 45-minute workout. YES, I see a lot of people complaining about the fact that you can't access the 4 sessions separately--your only options are the 2-mile classic walk and the 2-mile interval walks--but there's this wacky thing on your remote called the 'next' button. If, for instance, you only want to do the second interval session, you need only hit the 2-mile interval walk on the menu and then hit your remote's 'next' button. It will magically transport your DVD to the exact part you're looking for!Sorry for the sarcasm. Anyway, this workout is perfect in my opinion. It gets my heart pumping and time flies.

DVD is flimsy, cheap & will skip after minimal use.
Ok, the exercise part is excellent. The DVDs are super flimsly, poor quality. Everybody I personally know which purchased any DVDs within the "Walk Away the pounds" series has had to replace their DVDs ... until they just give up. My self included, I bought three different WATP dvds. The dvds each started skipping after the first play. I bought them dvds again, this time with the replacement insurance. Same thing, the new dvds began randomly skipping too. Same thing happened to others & my friends. The workouts are really fun, such a shame the dvd quality is junk.

Good exercise
Good DVD if going out walking alone is daunting. Easy to follow and gets the heart rate up. Take about an hour for the full 4 miles but you can skip to the cool down if you want.Beats going out in the rain.

Good dvd
Really enjoyed the pace on this dvd. Easy to follow, and each mile is flagged up, so you could stop if you wanted to at 1,2,3 miles .

I love Leslie and this workout was good, fastpaced and loads of fun, I love the way she keeps updating her workouts. It shows she is up-to-date with latest exercise research. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to sweat
