My son's new favorite toy
My 4 year old loves this lab. It is so simple yet so entertaining! The Reactor Pods are basically bath bombs with little plastic creatures inside. He feels like a real scientist when he pushes the syringes to fill the chamber with water and it bubbles over. We found using warm water speeds up the process. The anticipation of which creature will emerge is the fun part! Once the creature is "born", you classify it using the identification cards. There are cards with little quizzes to learn fun facts about real animals as well. My son was having so much fun with this that his 10 year old brother asked for one as well! The lab pieces and creatures are well made and durable. It is easy to assemble. The only problem we found is that the syringes can be difficult to push out and draw up water. Overall a fantastic learn-while-playing experience. I now use extra reactor pods as incentives/rewards for good behavior and it works like a charm!

This is an excellent resource which links the child's acftivities to the national STEM standards.
I teach Kindergarten and First Grade. I ordered this monthly adventure package for my great grand grandson and daughter. It is even more delightful than I had imagined from the descriptions and they love it. It you buy only one thing for your child or grandchild, do this. At around $25.00 each month, it is also a bargain. One of the items they sent is something that cost $5.00 more when I purchased it separately. These selections also emphasize active learning and all of them link to the STEM national standards

Could be fun --
The kid wanted some "science" toys for birthday. Mainly just wanted beakers and tubes and mixing material. This fit the bill. I was not aware of this series at all, but when kid opened up the package, was familiar with them. Has an apparatus that is too complicated for its own good. The water tube system did not work and just turned in to a wet mess. This was disappointing. Would have been much more fun to include more beakers and flasks to old school pour and see the reaction to reveal the mystery toy. And the toys are not that cool. Kid was excited, but quickly quietly disappointed :(

Really fun for the kids.
Was even more fun than expected. My 5 yo son was so into the foaming and bubbling. A bit messy, but so worth it for look on his face. My 15 yo daughter even came over and stayed for a bit to watch. The best part, they have little "toys" in the middle of the fizzers. After they come out they have a little card for your child to examin and write down questions about the creature. Ex: "How many feet?"

My Son LOVES This
I got this for my 7-year-old's birthday and he LOVES it. He knows the reaction process of vinegar/baking soda, but has a lot of fun doing this. I'm using the extra 6-pack of creatures I bought as rewards for when he displays random kindness. Not every time, he shouldn't do things expecting to get something, but every so often. He has 5 creatures now and, after 2 months, he is still playing with them even more than his Legos! The creatures are one of the few toy sets he keeps regular track of. We're about to take his creatures and put them in new pods to re-reveal them. He likes trying to keep the vinegar to water ratio right so that it doesn't overflow everywhere (yes, even the little tray it comes with can't keep up with a big overflow). He finds it a challenge and we're all having lots of fun.DEFINITELY worth the money!
