Xenophobe's Guide to the Swedes

This is a fairly accurate book although I would say it is a little harsh at some points. As someone who is in the process of moving to a spouse in Sweden I did have a few good laughs at some of the jobs that I found to be all too true.

My grandparents were Swedish immigrants and I visited Sweden and Swedish relatives there, several times with my parents back in the day. The descriptions of Swedish temperament and outlook fit my grandparents to a "T," and accurately described my dad as well. I was unfortunately exposed to pickled herring, but the superb baked goods served with copious amounts of coffee made up for it! I loved this book!

Has some good knowledge to the swedes and their culture. Enjoyed the book. I would recommend it to a friend. Cheers.

This was a short book on the Swedish. It was written with dry humor and the Swedes were made fun of to a degree. But one did get a picture of the main personality traits of the Swedish people via a quick read.

I use these guides before heading off to do business oversees. Concisely written and a fun (but very helpful) read.

Hilarious, and helpful in my business dealings. I loved it. Really entertaining and useful at the same time. I plan to read it again.

Here's the problem...it's dated. I live in Sweden now and cannot identify with what is in this book as of now. There is some info that's good and accurate but for the most part, things have definitely changed from when this was written.

Awesome book, I'm on holiday right now in Sweden and am using this book as a guide to understanding these weird wonderful creatures, Swedes.

All the X's Guides are fun and informative and certainly worth 99p. However, like almost all the others this makes me reflect that I wouldn't choose to live there, which is rather sad.

This book has helped me understand more of the Swedes and their culture as I have one daughter in law from Sweden, and now my second son living in Sweden. The book was very helpful when he tried to move to Sweden. He did it now and is very happy there.

Great humour, very informative, a lot of vocabulary if anyone reading is learning swedish. Will be moving to Sweden in a few month so will figure out then how accurate it is.
