52 Weekend Adventures in Northern California (First Edition) Paperback – 15 September 2020

I purchased Tom Stienstra's latest book, 52 Weekend Adventures in Northern California. It arrived a couple of days ago and I've been reading through it a bit at a time.Wow, I'm so impressed with Tom's writing style. It is perfectly descriptive, with a warm, appealing approach. The layout of the book couldn't be better. His "best" pages at the beginning really draw the reader to want to learn more. I love the "Insider's Tips" and the Campfire Stories" sections as well. These great tips tell me that Tom, or his friends, know what they are talking about and each is truly a tip from an expert. The campfire stories are relatable and also reveal he has actually visited the places he discusses. Reading this book is like listening to a friend.It was especially fun for me to read of places I've been as though I'm revisiting them. I can't wait to try his recommendations in places I haven't yet visited.It is no wonder Tom has won so many awards for his work. Thanks for a great reading journey. I've already ear tagged several pages as plans for future adventures.

I just started reading this book and I'm quite impressed with it. Tom Stienstra's books are well-written and full of useful information for venturing outside. This book is no exception. I like his campfire stories, making the book more fun to read and giving it a more personal touch. If you're looking for adventure in Northern California, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

This book has great pictures for one thing! The descriptions of the camping locations, the facilities, hikes and hidden gems for hikers is excellent.
