Deliciousness Without the Excess Fat or Sodium :)
I remember my mom making Corned Beef Hash for us as children. I also remember it being extremely salty and floating in fat. This Mary Kitchen Reduced Sodium Corned Beef Hash is everything I ever wanted in a hash. It's perfect for us for weekend breakfasts. We cook it up in a cast iron skillet until it gets just a little bit of crustiness and then top it off with an egg each. I'll be buying this again for us... especially since the price on Amazon is far less than our local stores :)

Weekend Breakfast
To me, this is comfort food, something I ate with my dad as a kid. Eggs, corned beef hash, and buttered toast was the perfect weekend breakfast for us. We tried to gently slide it out of the can and cut 3/4" slices into a smoking hot cast iron pan. The trick was not to try to turn it too soon - let it get a good crust, and turn it only once otherwise, it tends to break apart. I find the regular corned beef version to be a little too salty for me so the reduced sodium version is perfect for me and if I can't get it then I get I get the Hormel Roast Beef Hash version. There are several Hormel products I will always select over other brands and this is one of them.

Corned beef
Bought it because of reduced sodium but found out it's still way too much for someone on a salt restricted diet. Too bad since I like the taste.

Alright Stuff
Before I was vegetarian, I loved eating ths stuff. However, I believe all food should be organic/pesticide-free, which this certainly isn't. It's just another victim of the pesticide-centric farming monopoly no one sees.

Where's the beef?
I like the regular Corned Beef Hash just fine, but I like this even better as it is no where near as salty. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is Hormel has seen fit to raise the potato to beef ratio over the years where now there is more potato than beef. Still this is awfully good stuff to have with a couple eggs and some English muffins for a hearty breakfast.

For someone who is trying to lower their sodium intake it would be a good choice. The quality of the product is good
Have eaten Hormel hash for years, wanted to try out a low sodium version. Kind of bland, not dis-tasteful but lacking that hashy goodness. It did not brown up as well as the regular version. Would be OK if used as an ingredient in a recipe. For someone who is trying to lower their sodium intake it would be a good choice. The quality of the product is good. It's just not what I want to use as a replacement hash.

Great Product
I've been trying to find low sodium Corned Beef Hash and here I found it. The sodium content is still a little high but I don't eat very much so my sodium intake is minimal. When I run out I will order more as I like to have with my eggs for breakfast.

Think of it as a "meat and potatoes" meal
I love canned corn beef! A little catsup/hot sauce added -- it's a meat and potatoes meal. This Hormel version is just fine. Reduced sodium for those that prefer it. In my case I add salt and pepper to about everything anyway (in my 60's w/ excellent health, so no advice wanted). Enjoy.
