Time for a fair review and not all this one star nonsense
The fair point to make here is this is a good camera and works when the time is invested to set it up.I am not convinced that giving something a bad review because you simply cannot make it work is very fair. Problem between keyboard and chair as they say.Anyway, first to clear up some misconceptions stated by other reviews...1) You CAN see the current temperature no problem. In fact it could not be any more obvious if it tried - it is superimposed into the top left hand side of the camera feed!2) There is no 10 second delay in what the camera sees until it is visible on the app, or at least if there is it is due to a poor wireless reception. This is no different than any IP camera with a degraded connection.I have this camera working exactly how I wanted; viewable on my internal LAN from all my devices, publicly accessible via Dynamic DNS from anywhere in the world securely via SSL and have working email notifications. I have even enabled a couple of features I was not expecting - like the ability to upload recordings triggered by motion to the FTP server on my Network Attached Storage. Some Pros (as there are lots):Security is spot on for HTTPS external access, giving end to end encryption between your device and the camera. The wildcard certificate assigned to the webserver is signed and trusted when using Foscam's DDNS service (*.foscam.org);Picture quality is superb;Night vision is superb;External access worked brilliantly once setting up (explained shortly); The IR LEDs are not visible in the dark;It looks very smart (I did not want one of the hideous looking generic IP cameras); The notifications for Motion, Sound and Temperature are great with variable sensitivity; The Android apps are good (I say apps as we are using both the older Foscam Viewer app and the replacement named simply Foscam). The new one is better for baby monitoring in my opinion as the push notifications triggered by real-time motion or sound work (do not work on the Viewer app for some reason). However, I find the older viewer app simpler for accessing the external DDNS feed where I simply want to view it;The two included lullabies are nice and of good audio quality;Motion and Sound notifications via email are great;Has many features that any IT enthusiast will enjoy exploring. The cons (or at least the hurdles I faced):Out of the box I am not convinced the firmware is that great. I experienced some reliability issues with the cameras Web configuration page at first. I should note, this only affected my ability to login to the camera and configure it manually - the camera and it's feed continued to be perfectly available from my Android devices. However, after applying the latest available firmware from Foscam's website (which I had intended to do before purchasing anyway) that problem went away. The microphone on the camera is not great - do not expect good two way communication - not really a substitute for proper a audio baby monitor; If you enable the audio in the app while the camera is playing a lullaby you get some terrible feedback. To make the external access work via DDNS you first need to enable both DDNS and UPnP from the cameras configuration page. You then need to Port Forward TCP port 443 (use this instead of HTTP/port88 as it is secure) to the IP address assigned to your camera from your routers configuration page. All in all I think this as a great camera if you want something that is aesthetically pleasing, has great picture quality and is feature rich.It has its share of bugs but what does not at this price range. You are not spending hundreds of pounds on an Enterprise class IP camera here. But despite the small issues I have discovered, I would choose this over one of its ugly half price brothers and sisters any day.Hopefully this is helpful to some.

Challenging but ultimately rewarding.
We were bought one of these at my request when our son was born as it is the only camera of its type that doesn't look like a dalek. So far, we are happy with it. There are undoubtedly issues with the set up but eventually found an app (just called Foscam in the Google play store) that worked and have managed, after much swearing, to get it to work. I can now access it from everywhere with a data connection. If I could repeat how I got it to work, I would tell you but now that I have, it works really well. I can only really comment on its capabilities as a camera as we have another monitor for movement and sound. The description is misleading as others have noted in that there appears to be no way to see the temperature but again, this is taken care of by the other monitor. All in all, excellent at being a camera once you have persevered and get it to work.
