Good series
This was hard to put down and I’ve struggled finding time to read lately. Once I read the first one, I had to have all 3.

Interesting and Different
This wasn't my favorite thriller I have ever read but I really enjoyed how different it is than the normal books I read. I just don't think this book held my attention all the way through enough to be a complete favorite. It follows her back story a bit through the book and I wish that connected a bit more during the book. I thought Malcolm was a very interesting character and I hope if there is a part 2 of this book that he is more involved. She is basically an undercover agent in a small town with no investigating experience and it follows her story in that town.

VERY WELL WRITTEN PAGE TURNER!!!
I loved the twists and turns this book took me on. Being an avid reader I was sure I had this mystery figured out early on in the book but found myself very surprised at the outcome. What is up with Malcolm? I guess we have to wait for Stuart's next book, she did leave us with several unanswered questions so I am sure one is in the works!!What a fantastic movie Still Mine would be I could visualize the town of Blackmore and the character's I got a little ahead of myself and picked out the location and the actors!!!

Compulsive story
Yet I was offended by the ending. The story flowed really well. I kept reading to find out what happened. Was the author in a hurry to finish? A set up for the next book? Could have been 5 star if not for the disappointment for the cut off end

GOOD READ
A down-on-her-luck woman comes to a mining town devastated by the closure of its mines. The citizens, those who haven't left, are depressed and angry and turning to drugs. As more layers of the heroine's sad past are uncovered, we find someone has sent her to look into the disappearance of a woman. A woman with eerie similarities to the heroine.A brooding story with unexpected layers.

Had to read it to the end
Not really my type of story, but it grabbed my attention. Character descriptions are so awesome that I could envision every one of them. Would make a great t.v. movie.

A little obscure
Characters and plot both a little disjointed and the point of some of the subplots was undeveloped and obscure. Set up for a sequel but I’m not sure I’d buy it

Thrilling debut novel
A great first novel that grips from the first page and draws you in. Until almost the end I couldn't decide which characters were trustworthy or not and so it became the classic page turner. And it was also at the end when the double meaning of the title became apparent. I certainly look forward to a sequel and many more books from this talented writer.

Great thriller
This is a great thriller.I found the beginning of this story a little slow. There was a lot happening, but I didn’t feel invested in the character of Clare. I wanted to know more about her and how she ended up investigating Shayna’s life. There was plenty of information about Shayna and the town, but not enough about Clare to make me feel connected to her. There were twists throughout the story. Clare was a unreliable character, so she was usually unpredictable. She made bad decisions, though sometimes she just had to make the best of the situation she was in.I really had no idea what happened to Shayna. Everyone in town had a motive to hurt her, including the possibility that she harmed herself or left. But I figured she didn’t just walk away because that wouldn’t make for a very interesting ending.I really enjoyed this story. I can’t wait to read the sequel Still Water.

Not a new copy
Disappointing. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a new copy. And it was the bigger size paperback and not the smaller kind. Hard to rate because of these things and personal choice. Not pleased thought that it was a used copy.
