Yeah, I like it!
This thing is truly tough and well made. I work on trucks and machinery and give this sort of thing a real workout. I wear mine with the metal clip removed and run my belt through the rear bands the clip normally mounts in, which makes it horizontal. That also makes the phone easier to get when sitting or driving. The clip that latches the cover closed is a little un-handy, but not nearly as much as looking for my phone when the magnetic or Velcro type let it fall out during maneuvering over or around the stuff I work on and haul. My most recent phone was in two very ugly pieces when found and I lost all the stored info. That is very un-handy.Update: I bought this back in September 2013. It has been through a tremendous amount of abuse, and has finally had one side of the latch clip break off. It still works well, but it does show its age, so I am ordering another as a replacement. This thing has lasted me 4 years, which is 3 years and 6 months longer than any other holster I ever owned. I have lost zero phones during this period, so I am obviously still happy with the purchase.

Nice case, brown would have been nicer........
You have to have strong pincers to undo the nylon quick-connect to get to the phone, but that's OK with me. My cell (a 'candy bar' shape) with a silicone protector sleeve, would be hard put to fit into many other cases. It slides into this one nicely. And from a horizontal position, it comes out very quickly. An annoyance I had with several others as the silicone is quite tacky and resisted being pulled out. The supplied metal clip, for vertical mounting, is not permanently attached, for good reason. If it were, it would probably chew up any fabric or leather belt you had on, if it were left in place while being worn horizontally. Built like a bomb shelter, as most Maxpedition containers are, will probably not appeal to a lot of tastes. But it certainly should satisfy those with a "military gear" type leaning.

It was good for a minute
Before I bought a new phone, this case/holder worked like a charm. I attached it to a Sitka Maxpedition bag. I loved it. It was right in front on the strap and I always knew where the phone was and didn't need to keep it loud but I could always hear it ring. Not that many people call me, but just in case. I digress.....I purchased a newer phone. Love the new phone it is soooooo waaaaaay cool. Huge screen so bright and crisp great call quality signal everywhere I go fast internet speeds....oh wait I was supposed to be talking about the holder. Yeah. Worked wonderfully till the new phone wouldn't fit in it. Now it just sits on my shelf all lonely and stuff. But I liked it greatly while I used it.

Fits iPhone 4S
This is my third Maxpedition case. Once you get the right fit, they are pretty much bulletproof. Fits my 4S with a JETech case perfectly, an OtterBox would probably be too big though. After 3 years (on one of my other cases) one side of the clip did break, but it still works fine and I still have it. When you get it you need to take the belt clip off and reconnect it to the case...if you don't, the phone will fall off leaving the clip on your belt within about 2 hours. I always clip it on my jeans pocket, not my belt and I have never had it fall off, ever, and that includes riding a motorcycle without fairings at "various" speeds regularly.

Just okay; could be much better
I purchased this pouch for use with my Samsung Stratosphere smart phone. Well I feel it Maxpedition makes a lot of great products, in my honest opinion this is not one of them. I've had this pouch/holster now for at least 18 months and it has held up quite well. When I started using this pouch I noticed a very tight fit. Mainly because the plastic protective case that was on my phone caused it not to fit correctly. The only way to remedy this problem, was to remove the plastic protective case. The other problem with the metal belt clip on the pouch. I used some Maxpedition Straps in place of the metal clip. To be honest thisdoesn't protect your phone at all. All other Maxpedition price on phone though I've owned have been very good. Thanks for listening.

Will not work with iPhone.
This is actually a very well made, sturdy product worthy of the Maxpedition name. Buuuttt...it is much too small for an iPhone 5 and similar sized phones, which eliminates its usefulness for me and probably 90% of everyone else. If you are one of the dozen or so people in the world still using a slide or flip phone, then this case is perfect for you, even if it probably cost more than your phone is worth. If this product were updated to accommodate modern smartphones, I'll gladly buy it again and give it five stars.

High quality holster, perfect for gun belt.
I am extremely impressed with this product. I use mine on my duty nylon belt and I feel confident that my phone is secure. The construction is rugged and the hood provides an extra layer of protection. Over the past few years I have worn and frayed multiple holsters and not only is this one holding up like a champ, it also fits the Panasonic arbitrator body mike. Finally, several of my co-workers have complimented the holster, particularly its ability to handle my HTC thunderbolt with extended battery and Seidio case (AKA a brick).

good, but...
Nice quality case, but didn't have the belt clip that was supposed to be included. Not very useful without any way to attach it to a belt. Was lucky that I already had some of the TacTies.
