Description
Birkenstock's Black Super Birki Clog is made of durable, flexible polyurethane. The cork/latex insole is molded to support all arches of the foot and is washable and replacable. These clogs are ideal for all day comfort in the garden and can be easily washed with soap and water. There's a delicious satisfaction in slipping on a good pair of clogs as you head out to the garden. These are those kinds of clogs, and typical Birkenstocks in every sense: classically colored, intensely comfortable, and smartly made. The convenient removable liners display Birkenstock's customary foot-molded features, comfy cork cushioning, and moisture-whisking jute fiber foot bed. Moreover, they're machine washable, so on particularly mucky days you can toss the liners in the wash while you casually hose down the shoes. The shoes are as carefully constructed as the liners, featuring a good tread on the soles for traction and fitting slightly larger than everyday footwear to allow for long periods spent standing. Made of polyurethane, they can not only withstand all kinds of weather, mud, and hosing down, but also they're lightweight, flexible, and virtually indestructible. It's small wonder they've been affectionately dubbed "Birki's"--no doubt these clogs will be your chummiest garden companions for seasons on end.

Looking for hospital work shoes
I love Birkenstocks but, my experience with the original leather clogs in the hospital were not good. I have since tried every type shoe I could find to meet the rigors of my work environment with mixed and only moderate at best, success. I've worn these Birki's for a week now and did expect to need more time to break them in and to have the insoles mold to my foot pattern. Clearly in more time that will happen even more but, I have been very pleased with the level of support these shoes give me at this point.. No sore spots on my feet after long days and in fact, my feet were not painful at the end of the day. Indicating to me adequate support at the arch and other pressure points. Because of the slight heel cup, my feet do not slip out of these shoes as they did in clog type shoes. This is a great safety feature, especially in a fast paced and sometimes messy environment. I normally wear the open foot pattern size and these fit well. No extra room though, so if you have particularly high arches or wide feet these may not work for you. But definitely give them a try. I wear thick socks with mine for additional cushioning. The shoes are quite firm but, not as much as traditional Birkenstocks. Although made of vinyl/plastic material do not compare these to the feel of "Crocs" There is no comparison to the springy nature. That being said, they are far superior in support. And to my mind, better than going barefoot in that they cradle my feet in a natural position. I have recommended them to my co-workers.

Great work shoe!
I got these for work and they are fantastic! I'm a chef & spend up to 15 hours a day on my feet and these shoes are very comfortable. I'm so glad I purchased them. They come with a slightly flimsy cork insole but I bought some good quality work shoe insoles and placed them right on top of the cork ones and they're great. They do run big I find as I am a size 9 women's & these definitely feel more like a 9 1/2 but with the added insert I bought they work out perfectly fine. They are also easy to keep clean as well which is important when working in a kitchen. I would purchase them again.

Size?
Great clog! I had to exchange my first pair as they were WAY too big. I always wear a size 10-10 1/2. I went down to 9 and my toes hit just barely, but it’s not noticeable when walking. I’m a nurse and found that supportive shoes are more important than cushion shoes. These are nice and supportive for my slightly highish arches. The shoes are a little sweaty for me, but I can kick them off and on so easily that it really doesn’t matter for me. All day long wearing them may be a major sweat issue for you, if you can slip them off throughout the day that’s ideal.

Not good
Normally wear a womens size 10 so ordered a pair in this size. They were way to big so gave them away and ordered a size 9-91/2. They fit okay but still a little large and too wide. I wanted the Eva Sandals which I have wore for years but unfortunately they have discontinued them. I am very disappointed in these and will not be ordering more. The fit is very uncomfortable and awkward and to wide for myself. The Eva sandles in the past were great and I give them 5 stars plus but these only a 1star even though I don’t believe they should get that.

Great For Pastry Cook, But Hellish Break-In Period
As much as I like these shoes NOW (waterproof, easy to clean, reasonably comfortable, fit well, non-slip, not too clumsy), I am going to warn buyers that there IS an initial breaking-in phase and that phase IS HELLISH. Now, maybe wearing the shoes for a 10-hour shift the first day isn't the wisest idea, but by the end of the night of my first day wearing the Birkis, I felt completely crippled. My feet still hurt so badly the next morning that I chose to wear some $15 shoes from Walmart just to give my feet a break and make it through the weekend at the restaurant! THAT being said, apparently that one battle-zone day broke them in to the point that the following week when I tentatively wore them again, they fit my feet perfectly! The sole is a little harder than expected, but the cork inserts that come in the shoe have formed to my sole pretty well and I now have no problems and finish my shift at night with the minimal discomfort you'd expect from any shoe you'd been standing in for ten or eleven hour without a break. Would definitely recommend these with the caveat of either breaking them in more slowly, or just expecting that Day 1 Hell period. Haha.

GOOD FOR PLANTAR fasciitis
I have plantar, I work in the OR, so I am on my feet all day. My foot doctor told me I needed cork bottom shoes to wear. He also mentioned (spenco foot support) which i got from academy sports. When I tell you the first day is the worst because your feet have to adjust. The 2nd day I was fine! My feet do not hurt when I wear cork bottom shoes. I have slippers I wear that are cork bottoms. What also helps is soaking your feet in ice cold cold cold water after a long day. It helps. The shoes are good for plantar. I would recommend them.

Too small
I love birkenstock. I have very wide feet with a high arch so I rarely can find comfortable shoes. I live in birkenstock gizahs. In those I wear size 39. They provide great arch support and accommodate wide feet so my feet don't hurt. I am looking for something to wear for travel for work. I found these to try. The problem is the shoe sole is very thick so when the cork insole that is also very thick is inserted, the shoe is too small. I can fit my foot in the shoe without the insoles but what is the point without the cork and arch support? They need to make the shoe bigger so that it fits people in the normal size that they wear. Now I'm in quandary. The next size up is unavailable so I can only get two sizes up that I suspect is too big so I won't have comfortable shoes for my upcoming trip for work. :(
