No. I suggest double stick tape.

Q: Is diameter measured when the kippah is folded flat or open?

When I measured the Kippah flat, each of the four sides measures 3 1/2 inches. So, since each side measures three and one half inches, the entire length lying flat is 7 inches. I love mine. The clip works perfectly.

Q: Will this fit a 1 month old head ?

It is sized and shaped for adult or older child sized heads. Even with the strap at its shortest, it would be too loose.
