The Amazon listing fails to mention this is for storm cellar doors, not really what I think of as "basement" door; tho the "metal" part is accurate. The rubber is high quality and will last well if the cellar doors are not in the sun. This kit is great, but only for a specific set of doors.

My basement bilco doors always let grass, leaves and insects in. I was able to install this kit in about 30 minutes. I just searched for "basement door weatherstripping kit installation" on the web and found a great instructional video that made it easy. Just a pair of snips/shears is all you need. Nice tight fit on these gaskets. Hopefully I'll have less "crud" blowing in.

This kit isn't listed as being geared toward a specific brand of door, so while it is sort of universal we had to do some finegalling to get it installed.Once installed it kind of kept the doors very slightly open, but after letting it sit for a week or so the weight of the doors had compressed the seal in such a way that it really took some effort to open the doors. Around 3 edges of the door it was really sealed well, but across the bottom you can still see light coming through.It's definitely an improvement to the efficiency of the doors, but it's not perfect. I'm willing to blame that on the "universality" of the kit, but even partially sealing up the doors is an improvement - it's easy enough to install and tweak that it's worth the effort.

I will use this for my basement recording studio, should be a good material to seal doors.
