- To create ink using one of these ink sticks simply add a little water to an ink stone and rub the ink stick on the bottom until the desired amount of pigment is released.
Anhui Province Hu kai wen ink shop opened in 1782 which has produced and sold ink for more than 200 years. It is the most famous ink shop in China, and in 1915, Hu Kai wen ink won the gold medal in the Panama.
