Great deal for a good dust collector adapter
Works great!! I'm using it to cut plaster and lathe. Fits my old Black and Decker corded angle grinder and comes with adapter shims for different diameters.

worked great for indoor cutting
Purchased this to cut tile that was already installed. After hooking a vacuum it removed 95% of the dust created while cutting.. It is a pain to instal, so much so that after installing, cutting some tile, and then taking it back off my grinder I realized id needed to cut more of the floor tile.. I didn't bother re-installing it for the second cut.. As mentioned it works great, has clear line of sight to the blade and is very well made. A dedicated grinder with this attached would be the ideal way to go if you do alot of indoor "dry" cutting

Great idea, but difficult to attach
I have three different 4-1/2" grinders, from a cheap Harbour Freight to and Makita. The dust collection seems well thought out until you try to attach it the the grinders. The clamp on the dust collector has an assortment of plastic and metal washers to make a universal fit, but on all of my three grinders there is some protrusion, either part of the grinders body, or screws that stop the collar from seating fully. Next is the collar is snugged down by two small Philips head screws. They are soft metal and strip easily, so be careful. After many attempts I got the dust collector fastened, only to fine the the 4-1/2" grinding wheel not centered inside the dust collector.

Good value for 1-2 uses. Compatible with Milwaukee Electric 6117-33D Angle Grinder.
WHAT IT IS NOT: Something that will keep your area dust free, so all you need is to attach this to your angle grinder and wet-dry vac for a dust-free working area, that doesn’t require protective equipment.WHAT IT IS: If you're a weekend warrior who is going to tackle a stone countertop that's already installed, meaning you don't want to remove it and you don't want to wet saw in your kitchen or bathroom, then this little gadget is a good idea. Ideally you would have someone else following behind your cuts with a wet-dry vac, but this attachment allows you to go it alone and keep both hands on the angle grinder. While this attachment definitely helped, I still had to completely seal off the surrounding area with plastic sheeting, wore a good dust mask and safety goggles, and used a filter bag and muffler on the wet-dry vac.The Dastool Dt1706 actually performed a little better than I expected. I figured for the money it would at least not hold me back, but it did a decent job. I kept it just in case, but I don't know that it has more than just a couple of jobs worth of life in it.I was able to attach it just fine to my Milwaukee Electric 6117-33D* angle grinder. I had to remove the angle grinder guard, as well as the plate and a small screw for the guard assembly. There’s a small spring that protrudes as part of the guard assembly, and you’ll need to install the Dt1706 attachment so it collapses that spring flush with the hole where it’s installed.Once installed, you may notice the elbow to attach the vacuum hose seems like it should be turned around 180 degrees but using it both way, the outlet should face forward (may not always be possible). The dust comes around the bottom and kicks out the front, so you will collect more dust in the vac by having the outlet facing forward. The one major setback I had was the hardware. Both screws that clamp the attachment to the grinder stripped when I tried to tighten them down during a dry-fit of the attachment. I had several days for this project and a quick trip to the local hardware store and less than $1.00 worth of screws and nuts (they’re M4 metric thread BTW) fixed it.I also noticed that the attachment itself wasn't square, so it was absolutely impossible to keep the angle grinder blade from contacting the plastic housing of the attachment. I did the best I could but the blade eventually removed some of the clear plastic housing, although it never got to the point of making it a safety concern or kept me from making good cuts. Again, this is a reason the attachment is only good for 1 or 2 uses.*NOTE: This is the variable speed model which you will want for cutting countertops.PHOTO 1: New hardware (screw + nut) installed.PHOTO 2: Unable to square-up Dt1706 with angle grinder and there is very little space between the two.PHOTO 3: Dt1706 plastic housing after angle grinder blade hitting it.PHOTO 4: Incorrect positioning of vac attachment. Should be rotated 180 degrees.

No way to square shroud with cutting angle!
As mentioned in a number of other reviews, this shroud is NOT universal. Out of the box it did not fit my grinder, but I was uninterested in returning it so I set out to make it work. After spending some time modifying my grinder with a Dremel tool I was able to attach this shroud as intended and begin to test it out. It was only then that I realized the fatal flaw in the design - the compression sleeve that the shroud uses to attach itself to the grinder has no way to insure that the housing is square (and will remain that way) during use. As a result you are risking at best crooked cuts and at worst injury when the wheel of the grinder comes into contact with the shroud. This is something that has not been designed into the product, so you would have to come of with a solve yourself if you are dead set on using this.

Does the job
OK , I like this tool. I often have to cut old 5/8" thick stucco over lath and wire mesh inside houses. it's a miserable dusty filthy job. This tool is not perfect however it makes the job just a miserable moderately dusty project. I like the adjustable depth of cut since I often make a first cut about 1/4" deepI made (2) slight modifications to the tool1) the mounting clamp diameter was not big enough for my ancient Craftsman 4 1/2" angle grinder. I replaced (1) of the clamp screws with a longer 8-32 screw.2) after mounting the diamond wheel I taped over the wrench access hole in the side of the grinder to improve the vacuum.I have as shopvac directly connected to the tool, if I can find an old vacuum cleaner hose I'm going to make that connection permanent.I have noticed that I get better dust pickup when I am pushing the grinder forward than when I am pulling it back. I can see why , it's an airflow thing. One other suggestion , always blow out your grinder to remove dust after using with this appliance. Stucco, drywall and cement dust is very abrasive ,gets in everywhere and kills good tools

Less Dust
Installed this on my Bosh grinder. Extra ring/clamp fittings that came in the box with the dust shroud are absolutely fantastic. Those fitting which include different size rings help you attach the shroud to your grinder depending on the size. I did place a piece of tape on the side hole to minimize the amount of dust being emitted. Caught about 85% of the dust so it was a big help. I do recommend and will buy again when needed.
