A collection of lucid dreams
This is a beautifully crafted collection of narrative and pseudo-narrative surrealist poetry that is powerfully evocative. The narrative engages the intelligence, relying upon satire, on the comic and the horrific. There is great depth to each poem, layers of images and meaning. You'll find yourself revisiting these captivating poems -- they are poems to enjoy on a first reading and to ponder upon further readings.I highly recommend this book and it stands out as one of the strongest new poetry collections published by an independent press in 2020.

Great language but...
I didn't experience anything great reading this collection of poems. El-Kadali indeed uses great language (hence the 3 stars), but personally none of the poems stick with me. But perhaps they will with you.
