74th Street Stories Paperback – Import, 12 September 2005

As a native New Jerseyian I read this book with much anticipation and I wasn't let down. In fact, I couldn't put it down. Interesting & inspiring... I know what it was like to grow up in the 50's & 60's, and this book made me wish I was back living in those simpler times. I only wish the book was longer and would love to hear more from this author, his essays resonate with depth, truth and just enough humor.

I bought this book because I was a peer of the author's in North Bergen and was interested in what he had written about our town etc. I found it an easy enjoyable read that brought back many memories. I also learned alot about an old classmate that I didn't know at the time that we were in each other's lives. All in all, glad that I read it.

Anyone who grew up in New Jersey, especially in Hudson County, will identify with this book and the author. I don't agree with his assessment of North Bergen High School, and some of the factual material might be questioned, but he captures the mood, sense and quality of the time.A good read!
