Original and excellent
The second book was even better than the first. It hit its stride. It knew what it wanted to be. The pay offs were oh so satisfying

great ending
Good start, picks up where book one left off. Great, cinematic ending … everything in its place and all resolved in a quite wonderful manner. Unfortunately the middle was endless grimdark struggle, and exceedingly difficult to wade through.

Thoroughly enjoyable fantasy adventure. More!
Enjoyed this so much that I didn't want it to end, didn't want to say goodbye to these characters, which is rarely the case for me on completing a book. The book, and series, has an adventurous spirit, infused with a good humour and a light hearted touch even when taking us to dark places, and I felt it all worked wonderfully well. Ms Larkwood is now an automatic pre-order for me. Recommended!

Not a great sequel!
I had high expectations for this sequel to the debut book "The Unspoken Name", but was very disappointed. The main character is in a coma throughout most of the book, which was not good.

Epic
Loved this sequel. Characters really developed well along with the themes of self sacrifice and humility. The theme of difference was well handled and gods and immortality was dealt with in a most TP’ian way.Highly recommend these two books.
