Finally a product that does the job
I had a new gate installed in my place it is an RV access gate so you have an idea that it is wider than just a pedestrian walk through gate. The gate was very very heavy, the installer said it should be fine and I wouldn’t have sagging issues. Well not true, the gate eventually sagged after 9 months, it is make with very heavy gauge metal. I looked for wheels everywhere and the usual suspect stores like Home Depot, Lowes and other local hardware stores only have wheels that support 150 lbs or 68 kg give or take 50 lbs or 23 kg, some stores had wheels that would support heavier weight but not by much. I found this wheel online and was so excited to see a heavy duty wheel. I had my maintenance guy install, we used a jack to level the fence properly, installed the wheel and I am so so so happy, my gate now functions perfectly-I got the wheel with the break, highly recommend you get a break for yours unless you see absolutely no need for one. This wheel has held up, no signs or issues of failure my opens and closes there is a side gate door and it has stayed level and true, my side gate opens and latches with no problem. I purchased a wheel that would support more the. The gate weighs - some folks will purchase a product that just meets the standard of whatever they’re gate may weigh but I recommend going above that to ensure stability and longevity- I have learned over the years that “overkill” in some situations does the trick, and besides I don’t want to have to replace this wheel in 5 years, I want it to last much longer and as it stands this product appears that it will. Hope this helps anyone trying to decide if it’s worth the price, in my opinion it most definitely is.

Heavy Duty Lives Up
The media could not be loaded. I had a 12-Foot Cedar picket gate built on a metal frame for the driveway and there was so much weight at the end of that span that over time it sagged. It took a couple years for the gate lock to land below the striker rod and the gate would latch up. Since the gate is in the closed position 99% of the time; that’s where the heavy duty wheel would take on the weight and alleviate the stress on the gate hinges and the linear actuator. So I used a car jack to lift the gate up back into position where the lock met up with the striker. Then I attached the U-bolts and the wheel to the end of the gate frame at the ground. My driveway peaks at the gate and slopes downward in both directions slightly to help water run-off away from the foundation. So when the gate opens, the wheel swivels either right or left as it travels until the gate travels back enough the wheel leaves the ground from the slope. In Open position, the weight is bore at the the gate hinges for that time. Once it closes; the wheel hits the ground slope and weight is then put back on the wheel and concrete. Sag will not be a problem again.Others have complained of not being able to get to the grease nipple on the wheel because it’s down at a 45 degree angle on the ground once installed. As you can see in the pictures I provided; all you need is a flexible hose fitting on the grease gun to apply the grease. A needle fitting can get to the bearings underneath. Once I added the grease, travel was easier on the wheel. Also; as previous reviewers have mentioned, the wheel pivots either left or right when the gate starts moving, based on the degree and distance it takes for the gate to meet the fence. To prevent skidding and interference with the picket on the gate; I cut a arc in the bottom of the picket near the wheel. I show a before and after pic on that. That way regardless of direction the wheel choses to pivot, I always clears and doesn’t hit the gate frame and latch up.In all; I’m 100% impressed at the build quality and functionality of this heavy duty wheel. I agree it probably would dig into bare ground, especially when wet. Luckily that wasn’t MY application. It easily supports my 600lb. gate. Hopefully this helps someone make a good choice when looking for a gate wheel.

Sturdy and durable.
The wheel appears quite sturdy, though I've only had it for a day. I initially purchased just one for testing due to their high cost, but they seem to be worth the investment.

leaves a little to be desired at the price.
For $80 I would have expected less wobble in the wheel post. A 3rd u bolt is needed for some setups. It has issues swiveling in muddy ground if there is large gravel mixed in. I might weld the bearing so it doesn't swivel, as it seems more detrimental than helpful.

Sturdy
These wheels work well on my big doors. The only drawback I have is with initially moving the door one way or the other. When you start to move the door, the wheel has a certain side it wants to roll on, so it gets stuck sideways trying to swing around. My solution is to either kick the wheel around or move the door fast. Overall I'm pleased with the wheels. They help keep my big doors from sagging
