The media could not be loaded.  Good Design Ruined By Poor Manufacturing –I had to give this pair of Lid Stay Hinges the lowest possible rating of 1 star because they WERE NOT ready to use out of the box. Apparently, the manufacturer has no shame and no Quality Control inspection standards. Both of the hinges have manufacturing flaws that render them useless. Many people are to blame for the poor manufacturing problems. The person on the assembly line should have produced a working hinge. The person in charge of Quality Control inspection should have caught the manufacturing error and stopped the parts from being shipped out. Please see the attached video and picture.One of the Lid Stay Hinges was too hard to move because the pivot pin hinge rivet was squashed too tightly. I know how to loosen or tighten a pivot pin hinge rivet using an anvil, hammer, and washer. However, I should not have to spend my time correcting a manufacturing error.The other Lid Stay Hinge was so poorly manufactured that even with extreme force the hinge would not lock into the open position. The problem with it is that the pivot location pin hole was positioned wrong on one, or both, of the legs. There is a detent knob that is supposed to slide into its corresponding detent hole to lock the hinge in the open position. As received, the detent knob completely blocked the hinge arms from moving into the fully open position. I may, or may not, be able to correct this manufacturing problem by loosening the pivot pin hinge rivet and by filing a slip bevel on the knob and lever arm.I AM NOT buying from this manufacturer ever again.
