Seems to have worked
Put these around garden to deter about 7 or 8 magpies being a nuisance and damaging things, 2 weeks and they are still around but not in the garden. So seems to have had a result.

Works for about 1-2 days
This worked for about 1-2 days before the pigeons learned they were not harmful to them and they returned to my garden to feed. Only good side is they were quite cheap, so not a lot of money to waste.
