Nice and thick. I wear with boots and all types of shoes. Provide great cushioning and my feet dont get hot.

My kid is stationed in Europe right now and he was happy with these to help stay warm.

3star for now till tested out, will not go higher since it tore being put on, the sock that tore didn't even stretch as far as the paired sock.

Very thick, very warm, and reasonably soft for being a wool blend, these are by far the best socks I've tried for working outside in the cold winter months. And judging by the weave, I'd expect these to hold up better than most wool socks I've had in the past. In short, typical Carhartt quality.My only complaint is that the top of the crew is on a narrower side, making it too tight on the bottom of the calf muscle if you pull them up all the way, which is a deal-breaker for me. Also worth noting that the extra warmth means you'll likely want to swap them out for regular socks when returning inside for extended periods.

I’ve kept these even though they weren’t what I wanted. I had tried over and over to get good heavy cotton cushioned crew socks in navy and tan and received thin socks with every order. Well not this time. If you want extreme cold heavy hunting boot aocks, these are for you. Better have boots a half-size larger that usual as well!!

They were SO TIGHT, like compression socks without the stretchiness. Not good at all.
