A beautiful addition to the Christmas dinner table.

The set I received might have been used before although described as new.The knives had scratch marks on them. mainly very small scratches and a few very small flaws. One Knife though had a large scratch mark on it and felt rough due to the extent of the scratch along the blade part of the knife. It's hard to tell but the box they came in looked like it might have been resealed and maybe I was sent a set previously used.They were individually wrapped in plastic wrapping in the box so I don't think they were damaged in being sent to me, although the wrapping on each knife was loose on some.As they seem to scratch easily going by the ones I received I don't think they are sturdy.They also were finished badly when made and some had rough unfinished edges at the top of the handles.Surprised they are described as microwave safe as they are metal as described and I would expect not safe in a microwave.Surprised they are described as dishwasher safe as a cake slice and large cake knife from the same seller in the same gold finish is described as hand wash recommended although can be put in a dishwasher and I think it would be best to hand wash these.They are described as steak knives but they are not in my opinion.Overall very disappointed in the condition these were, But looking at other reviews this hopefully does not apply usually and if brand new and undamaged I think they would be nice but just check when you receive them the condition they are in before you use them

These knives are very nicely made, they are traditionally shaped and as such easy to hold and use. They are also very solid and made to a good gauge, you are unlikely to bend or damage these knives in normal use, this bodes well for a long life of use before you'd even think of having to change them.They feature a nice long blade which is just at home used for say buttering bread/rolls as it is for cutting up your food. They are also quite efficient at cutting through food including steaks, although I think the description of 'steak knives' is a bit misleading as these are not made specifically for that and rely on the serrated teeth for cutting through food like steaks, This is unlike true steak knives which are renowned for having razor sharp blades that slice through steak rather than saw through it. This is not to say that they are poor performers, as a generic dinner knife they are great, they are sturdy and can be used with most foods without difficulty.The ones I picked are described as multi-colored which is also described variously as 'plasma' or similar tags by other makers or types of cutlery. Some may consider this gaudy, but personally I like the rainbow colour effect which I think brightens any table setting. It is also a finish that is dishwasher safe and will not fade with use, very distinctive I like to think and they go well with similar cutlery I already have.In this pack you get 12 of these knives which is pretty generous, at the price they are currently this prices them individually at around the level you'd normally pay for budget knives rather than quality items like this. I would highly recommend them and if you don't like the rainbow finish there are other more traditional colour options available!
