Core (National Album Day Limited Recycled Colour Vinyl)

The media could not be loaded. While the product was great overall, there was a few issues. Firstly, the record is advertised as being a maroon red in the image, however on arrival it is more of a grey blue colour. While this isn’t an issue, it is something to bear in mind. Secondly, a sticker was stuck on the actual cover of the record, which after several attempts was very difficult to remove and left a small mark. Despite this though it was a satisfactory product and unbelievable album.

As a fan of STP, the Core and Purple albums especially, I was excited to see them released as part of national album day.However, the final package leaves a lot to be desired. Unlike the original release of Core, there are no liner notes included. Even the 2022 re-release had a gatefold + bonus material. This stings a bit more considering the National Album Day version for Purple included the liner notes. So they can make the effort for that, but not this? It makes this version of Core feel cheap.Thankfully I at least got a nice maroon colored copy instead of the trash bag grey.Additionally, Amazon is a horrible packer. The album was loose in a huge box. No surprise that the sleeve was damaged and required an exchange. Thankfully the second arrived, again in a huge box, but at least this time the album was in a padded envelope.I won't be pre-ordering again for National Album Day. Instead I'll wait to see what the final assembly looks like and buy on the secondary market. There is a flood of these going for the same price, if not a bit less. At least that way I can pick my preferred color.

Terrible pressing. Colour is grey and nothing like advertised. Single sleeve but doesn’t even include the insert. Sound level ridiculously low. Chunk of vinyl residue embedded into Side A creating a raisedBump that will damage your stylus. Save your money. Avoid this garbage cash grab pressing.
