Works on induction hotplate.
Actually, it works on one of two induction hotplates that I have. The diameter of the base is too small for the other induction hotplate. Better still, the water chamber does not have that funky gray coating that both the Bialetti & Cuisinox pots have - just nice clean stainless inside. That was a concern because the Bialetti I'm replacing had that coating and it began to deteriorate & rust after a few years of use.

Best stovetop espresso maker
Bought my first Ilsa , a one-cup in Italy, ordered a two-cup online when I got home. They are sturdy, last forever, much more efficient, beautiful, and easy to use than any others I've had. Be aware that the polished stainless version, the handles get hot, the brushed stainless version does not. Worth every penny--you'll never have to buy another.

Works well, looks great
Works well. The results aren't as strong as my previous pot but it's close. Very pretty and I love that it's stainless.Sturdy too. Handle gets warm but not too hot unless it's over the flame. LoveThis.

Love. This. So. Much.
This is my first home espresso pot purchase, so I can't provide any comparison info for anyone, but I can say that all of my expectations have been met and then some. The design is just so darn beautiful, but this isn't just a pretty face. The construction is solid stainless steel (18/10) and heavy. If you are in a hurry, a home espresso pot may not be for you as it takes a good 20 minutes to heat this up on low (as recommended for the best coffee flavor and longevity of the pot and components). This kicked out the best coffee I have ever made at home. I've used a French Press in the past, but just couldn't get close enough to that deep espresso flavor that I love. This little gem fits the bill perfectly. Although expensive, I believe the stainless steel construction, lineage (made in Italy, like a good espresso pot should be), gorgeous design and functionality made it well worth while. It is early days, so I will have to revisit this post in a few months to provide an update, but I will be truly surprised if this doesn't continue to kick out superb java for many years to come. As an aside, I also purchased the Frabosk milk frother, and couldn't be happier with that little gadget as well. First time out of the gate I had oodles of silky, thick milk foam and froth for a genuine (no exaggeration here) cafe' quality latte/cappuccino at home. Only fabulous things to say so far about both and well worth the purchase price as I'm sure they will both pay for themselves very quickly (when compared to what I've been dropping at the local Starbucks every month). In short, one of my favorite kitchen purchases EVER!

We love the look and the fact that you can make ...
We just got back from Italy where we bought this coffee maker. We love the look and the fact that you can make 4 cups instead of 2 that our old one makes. Turns out, it has the same size coffee basket as our 2 cup thus the coffee comes out much weaker given double the water. We are so disappointed. It's well made and the design is great but it should make better coffee. Paid 50 Euros which is cheaper than here but I get stronger coffee brewing through a Melita hand held filter. Thumbs down. Sorry.

My Italian relative says this is the best coffee pot and I would not contradict an expert.
Very good coffee pot and makes excellent coffee ( although this is also the beans)!. We have had ours for years now and it looks pretty much as it did when we first got it. Ours was purchased in Italy by a relative who did loads of research on the best coffee pots to buy, so we benefit from their hard work. I bought this for. friend and this is my first choice of coffee pot.

Top Produkt
