I'm not sure the last time I needed a glass breaker while camping...Instead, I use this as an emergency tool in my car.I've used the flashlight a couple times, and knowing I have a glass breaker is key since I live in an areaa with a lot of bodies of water.I can toss it in my hiking bag if I forgot my 10 essentials bag and it gets me close. Like that it charges via USB so I can charge it in the car while driving.

This item came in a hard plastic container. I received several compliments on this as I gifted all the men in my family. It has a fire starter so probably not appropriate for kids. Makes a great stocking stuffer too!

A lot is packed in to the for only being 8 inches long and 7/8 of an inch in diameter. It is made from anodized aluminum and has excellent fit and finish. All the sections screw together and the threads are very smooth and there is an O-ring to help keep the moisture out. It comes packed in a neat telescoping square plastic tube instead of a cardboard box, and included extra O-rings and a USB charging cord. The first section is the LED flashlight. You turn it on by tightening the section down, and turn it off by loosening it a turn. It is fairly bright and has a long focused center beam to see far away and enough halo around to see where you are walking close up. It has a bright, dim and flash modes that can be cycled through. You take off the flashlight end to expose the internal USB-C port to charge the included 14250 lithium battery in the next compartment. I comes with a short USB cable to plug into a power cube you must provide. There is a tiny internal led that is red when charging an turns green when fully charged.The next compartment has a whistle and is fairly high pitched and loud, and also made of metal.Next is the ferrocerium rod fire starter. The metal striker is on a short piece of paracord and the cord is long enough to use with the striker rod in place but the end cap can be screwed off for more maneuverability. I tried it and it threw off a good amount of sparks. When the end cap is removed it reveals a heavy duty glass breaker. I did not break any glass, but it looks like it could do the job.Finally in the end cap is a small compass. And it actually worked well and pointed north.So all-in-all an all-in-one survival tool that is well made and worth keeping in you pack or car for when the need arises. Recommended.

This Multi-Tool contains a ton of useful items and helpful emergency items. It has a handy LED flashlight with three different modes which provides an adequate amount of light for its size. It came in handy while searching for things in my tent late at night. I used the fire starter to quickly get a small amount of kindling started for my fire. The tactical survival multitool also includes a compass, whistle, paracord, bottle opening, glass breaker, and ruler. Overall, this Survival Kit is a pretty good item to throw in your backpack next time you go camping.

This is a great tool for my glovebox, which rounds out the tools that I have on my multi-tool knife. I'm not a camper or overly outdoorsy, but I do live on a very large farm way out in the country so I never know what I'm going to run into every time I leave our 1/4 mile driveway; a car accident, a disabled driver, a break down... around here, you never know. Because of that, I have emergency supplies in my truck, just in case.You can never have enough flashlights while traveling (I can recharge it in my truck if the power gets low) and the fire starter could be handy in a bad situation. Even the paracord is a great idea because who thinks of having rope or string in their vehicle? With winter on its way, I'm very happy this tool is on the road with me.
