I like how I could just talk to it for what ever I need it to do. I love playing and listening to my music on this..

Good purchase
I’m at a point where I buy Echo’s just because it’s new. I’ve noticed that the mic doesn’t always pick up the Wakeup word. I will test out the other words and see.

I really enjoy this echo show
Very handy to have, especially when I am watching tv or reading and have to set reminders to add to grocery list or set reminders for things I need to take care of the next day

Not what I expected
The pros:I love the idea of having devices in my main rooms that I can use to get information and set reminders and make announcements and keep an eye on the cat cameras and security cameras. This has replaced my bedroom alarm clock and lets me get my significant other's attention when we're in separate rooms.The cons:- Primarily I was looking into this for my elderly parents. It's very difficult to set up for someone else to take home and use. I can't say it's good for this purpose because it does in fact require a mobile device to set up and periodically to keep using. I really wish that there was a fully-fledged Alexa web app to use for managing the device so I could help them remotely.- I wish there was a better interface for selecting music and video. I was able to hook up the network drive that has my music, but I can't figure out how to pick what I want to play.- The Blink cameras have a delay, and viewing them for more than a short period requires an ongoing subscription.

Really cool!
I’ve never had any Alexa devices before. I really like the sound and how she can literally do anything you ask. I also have 2 echo dots.

Echo show 8 is packed with helpful features
I can connect to all my other alexa devices, my Bluetooth devices etc with just an "alexa play...." it's so easy to use and pretty much set itself up when I plugged it in.

Alexa should only talk when spoken to
All to often Alexa speaks without the command to do so. Unexceptable. If it continues i'll unplug them all and use them for hockey pucks
