Emergency Generator safety interlock kit.
The only difficult part of this purchase was making sure the kit I bought fit theCircuit breaker panel I owned .The first kit I bought did not fit .I returned it and bought the correct kit .Once I had the correct kit I was able to install it in about a hour .It works as advertised. I was very carful to measured three times anddrill once for each hole so there are no extra unused holes in my CB panel.I actually had to go to another vendors web sales site to help me figure out which kit to buy .Then came back to Amazon for the best price on the kit I needed to fit my panel..

Simple, effective solution
Easy to install, works as expected. Price is a bit expensive for the material received but balanced against the value and safety provided. Would recommend having a Dremel, file or small grinder to remove burrs around drilled holes.

Buy the right one.
I purchased this item in error. I needed an interlock for a 100 amp service panel. This interlock is only good for panels 150 and up. Do not make the mistake I made - be sure to check the amperage of your service panel before purchasing.

Does what it was designed to do
Very expensive for a fuse switch bracket, but does what it was designed to do. Should cost about 1/4 the price.

Does work great but ...
As the first poster mentioned, this thing is way over priced. It consists of two small pieces of sheetmetal and a few bolts. Should be $20 TOPS!. That said, it does work great. Basicly, you have to drill three bolt holes into the top right face of your breaker pannel cover and loosly bolt a specially shaped sliding sheet metal piece in place so it slides up and down. Once installed, the piece forces you to shut the main breaker off before you can slide the piece up and then flip the generator feed breaker. ( And vice versa). It only took 10 min or so to install but took a few tweaks to get it adjusted correctly. ( You have to install the Gen 30 240 breaker in the top two RH slots BTW. I had to move circuits in mine to make this happen.) Once in, it does keep you 100% safe/ foolproof. It alos allows you to back feed the entire breaker pannel (or circuits of yoru choosing) vs a few pre-selected circuits in a seperate generator box. My guess is that it costs so much because the alternitives are to run unprotected ( DANGEROUS) or opt for a seperate $400 breaker box designed for this purpose.
