Moondroppara Full-Size Planar Headphone

I am so happy that these came out because in every way they are an improvement over the Venus (which I don’t have) primarily due to the weight and construction improvements that for the price this is the better option between the two. I use these for meditation by watching videos on YouTube and it’s a night and day difference between the HD600. I am hearing sounds that I are in my living room but they are just in the video it’s insane. If you want to test it out, look up Irene Athanasiou “healing sound frequency music for sleep” or any of her videos the sound is crazy in these. I also picked these over Hifiman because of the metal looking construction, it’s very Apple looking and clean and I ended up getting a EF400 Dac/Amp combo to power these. It’s also a very comfortable headset and got great ear pads. Of course it’s an awesome dac and the whole set matches perfectly. I use the iPad with a dual usb c splitter to feed the audio to the dac and power the iPad as that is what you will need.

By the way, this item, please recable, it will not show its true strength unless it is a balanced cable, I bought the balance cable in the photo on a Chinese EC site (13000 yen). It is the same manufacturer product as this item, and it is called "Moondrop-Headphone Cable, Upgrade", and with this, the overwhelming high-frequency noise (vibration) of female vocals disappeared refreshingly, and I was worried about this noise with the unbalanced cable that came with this item, so I was very glad to use this balanced cable.And when the sound starts playing, you can immerse yourself in the music in a very comfortable mood, and it doesn't matter what the high frequencies are, what the low frequencies are, what the mids are, I like the feeling that the performer is playing there, I guess you could call it a performance space, the reverberation of the sound, the breath of the singer, etc. However, this item depends on the quality of the music recording and whether it can demonstrate its original characteristics, so a good amplifier with the best possible recording is a must.I mainly listen to Amazon music (I threw away CDs and DVDs in the past), and I find it very useful because I can listen to music from musicians from all over the world at a low price with good sound quality. You will be able to listen to this sloppy sound quality through this item, and even if you listen to the same song you have been listening to until now, for some reason, "this is not good" when you listen to it again with a good sound, you can make a new discovery.I've been using AKG712 for a long time, and now I'm graduating with this item. I also liked the AKG712 very much, but because it is the same open type, I was able to easily transition to this item, both of which are difficult to judge as superior or inferior, but here I decided to use PARA as a regular because I like new things and have a new feeling.It was an abstract review, but since the listener is the type of person who enjoys music in an abstract way, I apologize for making such a review and not being helpful. However, this item and the balance J cable are super recommended. (The amplifier uses SMSL DO400)

EDIT UPDATE:After using these for a couple days I noticed my ears were sore and sensitive to sounds, I wasn't blasting these or anything but I think the Treble is a bit harsh on the ears overall. If you are sensetive to the higher frequencies I'd maybe avoid. If this isn't a problem for you these are still a beautiful pair of entry level planars.I am beyond pleased with the sound these deliver, but be warned DO NOT be fooled by the low impedance of the specs, these will sound terrible without some power behind the amp/dac going to them. I had a Sennenheiser gsx 1000 and these sounded terrible through them for whatever reason, swapped over to the Soundblaster g6 and it's like a whole other pair of headphones while listening to lossless audio on Tidal.Who knows what it could do with a better DAC and AMP setup.As for gaming the soundstage is open and airy giving a good sense of depth and direction with crispy details and while I don't really care for virtual surround sound normally if you do decide to add that to your game with Sonar, Soundblaster command center, Sennheiser it really opens into a vast expanse with these open backs.I will say these won't please Bass heads, but if you want a detailed fast responding driver with zero mud, this is a good choice. I will say some female vocalists will come off a little shrill without a little EQing, but it's not as bright as this headphone's big sister the Venus.

These headphones have extremely high build quality with steel construction of the ear cups and band, with the adjusters clicking very positively for the suspension part. However, they suffer a fatal flaw in that there is almost 0 clamp force at the ear cups. If you turn your head, even slowly, the headphones shift around your ears, and just tilting your head slightly back to take a drink of water can cause them to slide. But if that doesn’t bother you, and you’re willing to sit perfectly still while you use them, then you’ll be greeted with a very nice slightly bright sound signature that sounds very detailed and articulate in its dynamics. They sound as good as some higher dollar hi-fimans and look the part, but I won’t be keeping my pair because I tend to move around while I am at my desk and they just won’t stay put.

Mine distorted badly on the low end with any kind of volume. Even on tracks that weren't super bass heavy. Maybe they were defective but I'm not taking another gamble on them.
