Bought and Used for Camping
Bought this along with a privacy pop-up as emergency back up for a tent camping trip that was in a semi-primitive campground. It ended up being perfect because the bathroom nearest us was closed, so we had to walk across the entire campground to use the other facility. So this worked GREAT for middle of the night #1 needs. When set up, it is quite sturdy. It breaks down and packs up well and is easy to use (the folding is a bit tricky, but just follow the directions and you'll get it. Don't lose the directions!). I definitely recommend for anyone who wants (or needs) a close place to relieve themselves while camping. It comes with a complimentary bag, so extra bags made for portable toilets are needed, and definitely sawdust, even cat litter – whatever you might use in any other portable toilet set up – is necessary, especially if this is going to be used more regularly/often and...um...as a "full service" pot.

Arrived broken - Otherwise, pretty ingenious design
I was very excited to find this product as one of my favorite backcountry areas is now heavily encouraging visitors to "pack it out." I suspect that trend will only continue, and products like this will move from "luxury" to "necessity." While I was very much hoping to be delighted with the TripTips Portable Toilet, the rattling I heard as I opened the package was an initial "uh oh" ... one of the connection points on the end of one of the accordion slats was already broken, presumably during shipping (the bottom most piece shown in the photo). With no time for an exchange, we tried to use it anyway on our trip, giving it structural integrity by many wraps of cord around the base. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough, as other connection points on the same slate soon broke away, making continued use just too risky. I tried to find a way to contact TripTips directly to discuss, but after 20 minutes of finding no phone or email to accomplish that, am now resorting to this review. Gave 2 Stars instead of 1 as I genuinely admire the ingenuity of this product. Hopefully an exchange unit will work better and I can update with more Stars in the future.Update: I requested an exchange/replacement unit which arrived promptly and undamaged. Raising my rating to 4 stars for good support.

Bag came not sewn properly
I love the product so far, very convenient to be able to fold it up and carry on a trip or when camping. Haven't used it yet so I will do a follow up review down the road to see if it is actually a quality product and holds up to normal use. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the bag that it came in was not sewn properly and will come apart easily with any kind of use. I have ordered a replacement Other than that it seems to be a good product time will tell.

Great idea, useful in some situations but with shortcomings
Great idea, small, lightweight, etc but it's not big enough to fit adult male comfortably. Seat is pretty thin too. Couldn't really find a cheap bag to fit it - most at the grocery store are too big or too small. Not the kind of thing you want to reuse the bag on so trying to minimize waste. That said, we still use for kid on long road trips when finding a public toilet isn't ways possible on short notice (or if you prefer this to getting a kid on a filthy truck stop toilet in a shady gas station in nowheresville).

Not easy to use
Not happy that I paid 42.99 and it is now it is 24.99. This isn't very easy to use. Challenging to put together. There are three pieces and it's somewhat cumbersome.

Almost, but
The port a potty comes in handy when out camping, it’s almost perfect, but there are some things that keep it from being a 5 star candidate, upon putting it together the circular base doesn’t quite “fit”, there is a small lip on the circular base that is too short when putting it together and if it’s not on a flat surface it won’t settle in so easily, the top portion of the lid doesn’t fit snug as I thought and lastly it “stands” too short, if you are someone who has trouble getting up and down from sitting, let’s say that age has caught up with you, you’ll need to have a rail or a branch to grab to pull yourself up, tall people will find it a bit too low. Best thing to do for a taller person or of age is to have a base to set it on to make it about the height of a regular toilet, other than all that, it does come in handy!

Good product
Good product well thought out design easy to use and clean compact and versatile only problem a little short about 2 to 3 more inches in height would be a lot better. Price point was decent I would recommend this product.

Great customer service
Clip was broken. Perhaps it had been dropped in the warehouse. But customer service replaced it. No questions asked and was very prompt to solve issue. Thank you.
