Polsi Soft Toilet seat, Stainless Steel Hinges, Made in Germany

My wife was given a soft toilet by her hospital to prevent pressure sores due to her paraplegia. That seat lasted for years until the vinyl cover got torn. Bought this as a stopgap until we go back for her annual hospital appointment and get it repaired. This Polsi seat fitted perfectly in a few minutes and does the job, it's not 'squishey' soft but soft enough. The fittings and hinges I especially like, they are very robust and take all transferring stress from wheel chair to toilet seat without coming loose. The supplied fixing tool allows you to get plenty of purchase on the very cleverly designed tapered fixing nuts. This is just our personal experience of course but I would recommend this seat.

I purchased this item for my disabled daughter.Due to her physical and mental health (extreme OCD) she can spend hours on the toilet resulting in pressure sores.I have searched around for quite a while for a quality padded seat with metal fittings as the usual plastic fittings would not be sturdy enough for her movements on and off the toilet.This seat cost more than the average toilet seat but the extra cost is well worth it.The seat is extremely sturdy and was a doddle to fit.Yes the instructions were in German but don't let this put you off.There are picture fitting instructions and a QR code that links you to an online fitting video.The two back brackets have an angle on them (see photo) so you can fit them to move the seat further forwards or further back.I was inpressed that the seat came with a plastic tool that helps you tighten the screws (I used it to undo my old seat too).PROThe seat is very well made and sturdy.It has definately helped reduce my daughters pressure soresEasy to cleanNo rusty fittings so farHandy fitting tool.CONMy daughter reports that the padding has conpresssed a bit but this is only to be expected in my opinion.Overall I am pleased with this item and would recomend it

Toilet seat arrived within a week of ordering, it takes slightly longer as it comes from Germany. It was clearly stated during the ordering process so it wasn’t an issue. The toilet seat is incredibly easy to fit. There are fitting instructions printed on the plastic bag that contains all the brackets etc. I fitted this in 10 mins. It took me more time to get my old toilet seat off the toilet than it did to fit. It comes with a tool to tighten the brackets so no extra tools required. I’m a T10 spinal cord injury and full time wheelchair user. I was able to fit this unassisted and in a short space of time so hopefully that helps demonstrate the ease with which it can be done. A tiny criticism would be that it’s not as padded as I would like but it is padded enough to suit my needs. I would say that anyone who is a higher level of injury and has vulnerable skin might not find it padded enough but that’s down to personal choice. The seat has metal brackets with plastic washers and plastic nuts to secure it to the toilet. It’s very secure when fitted and there are no issues when transferring from wheelchair to toilet or vice versa. The seat itself is comfy and there’s plenty of room when seated for bowel routines to be carried out. I would definitely recommend this product, the metal fixings are especially good and a rare thing as most toilet seat fixings are normally plastic. So it’s very good and well worth buying.

Now I would have given this padded seat a 5 star rating, it does what it says on the box, was easy to install, is well designed and made, the little nut tool included is a great and thoughtful addition as the fixing nuts can be quite fiddly to tighten. So far it is working perfectly, I would highly recommend it. What lost it it's 5 star rating was the plastic fixing nuts, one screwed up tight, but the other had no thread! I had some other nuts which I used, but if I did not have them it would have delayed installation. The fitting instructions are in German, but I didn't really need them as fitting is pretty straight forward. All in all a good product, with a slight snag.

Having bought several rubbish plastic hinged toilet seats before, that were in fairness let down by their hinges, we finally found this for my elderly mother. Expensive, but it is genuinely well thought out , easy to install with supplied tool, and really good quality. After checking this one, we bought a second immediately. The second was strangely cheaper, but we were happy to finally find a decent one. Martyn

Well made but less comfortable than my plastic one

This seat was very easy to install, my husband was impressed with all the fittings lining up well.This seat is very comfortable...but..after a week it started creasing around the hinge on the underside VeryDisappointed with this...it wasn’t a cheap seat so did not expect that to happen & has got worse since the photo was taken. Hence the 4 stars, it would of been 5 had this not happened. As I really couldn’t see anything about a guarantee so no option for sending back.
