THE BOOK WAS WRITTEN WITH SUCH LOVE
This was a meticulously researched opus that answered many of the questions that had been lingering in the back of my mind about "Scarecrow and Mrs. King."For instance: "Why did Amanda get a total makeover in Season 2?" As it turned out, the haircut was due to the lingering effects of a hair-related trauma from Season 1. I admit I didn't like the makeover because it seemed a little too trendy for the lovable housewife. I have always felt that TV producers and actors try too hard to keep up with the latest trends and end up changing things that shouldn't be changed. "Change for the sake of change" is never a good thing. I also remember not liking the show as much in Seasons 3 and 4 because they changed the tone of it and it lost some of its humor. I remember Kate Jackson saying to Joan Rivers that she wanted to make Amanda "less silly." The book covers all these changes with great precision, also reminding the reader of CBS' disastrous decision to move it from Monday nights to Friday nights in its final season. The time slot of a show should only be changed if absolutely necessary because a show becomes part of the viewers' experience on a certain night which cannot necessarily be transferred to another night. This book offers an in-depth breakdown of each episode, including the filming locations, a detailed comparison between the previous versions of a script and what was actually shot, and so on. There are also chapters dedicated to each of the major stars and many of the guest stars and behind-the scenes people as well. There's even a section with pictures of the lunchboxes, refrigerator magnets, and other things that were seen in the show. The book was written with such love that it's a joy to read, and I felt as if I had been transported back to the 80's.Most of the cast members seemed to have fond memories of their time on the show. "We really became a family," recalled Kate Jackson. The book confirms what any perceptive viewer could see: it was a top-notch production with high-caliber talent.I had no idea this show had such a dedicated following until I read this book. That was a pleasant surprise for me. I'm glad the show hasn't been forgotten. In today's era of putrid, low-IQ "woke" trash, we may just have to derive our entertainment from the gems of the past."Scarecrow and Mrs. King" had one of the greatest musical scores as well, and the show itself actually lived up to the score on many occasions. "Life of the Party" and "Delirious On Arrival" were, by far, two of the best episodes, and I was thrilled to read more about them in this wonderful book. The book was written by three lifelong fans of the show who recall their experiences with the showvin three separate chapters. "I never missed an episode," confessed Taya Johnston. It shows. Great read!

You Need This Book!
As a long time fan of the TV show, "Scarecrow and Mrs. King", I was beyond excited to receive my copy of this book! It is so well written and organized. It is CHOCK FULL of interesting facts, tidbits, never before seen pictures, and so much more! Each episode is discussed in great detail, including changes in dialogue from first drafts of the scripts to the shooting drafts! Every time I open the book, I find new things that make me giddy with excitement! And can we talk about the interviews for a moment? WOW! I personally love knowing all about the behind scene things when it comes to movies and tv shows. This book provides the inner workings of the minds of the biggest stars, producers, and directors that worked on creating this masterpiece of a show. It's amazing and brings with it a whole new level of respect and excitement for the creative minds that worked on the show in the 1980's, something I never thought was possible. One bit of advice I do have once you have purchased this amazing book.......don't open it until you have time to look at it cover to cover because once you read the first word in the book, you're hooked and won't be able to put it down! Huge kudos to all the people that devoted such time and love to this project. You have created a masterpiece that we ALL can love and enjoy now and for years to come!

Every Fan Needs This
This is truly an encyclopedia of all things Scarecrow and Mrs King, from the incredible detail of its episode synopses to the breathtaking range of interviews with stars, guests stars and crew to the fanciful photo collection of memorabilia and set design. Every page brings some fresh detail that even the biggest show fan will find new and fascinating. It comes at everything from so many angles of interest that it's almost impossible to take in.To call this simply a fan guide is doing it a disservice, running the risk of lumping it in with all those other cheap publications where someone has thrown together tabloid stories and a few photos. This is truly a labor of love by a trio of dedicated fans; the love of the show shines through on every page. Real fans should snap this up.

A Masterpiece 40 years in the making
What happens when three superfans get together and write a book chronicling the greatest television series of all-time? Well, for starters you get 50 years old women squealing on the phone for hours with one of their best friends! David, Taya and Sabine take us into the past as if it were yesterday and remind us (as if we needed a reminder!) why we love this show. The behind-the-scenes photos and interviews give us all the feels as when we would find our favorite star in the pages of this month's Tiger Beat.I'm slightly worried that I may need to see my doctor soon, as I have not stopped smiling since it arrived!Overall, this is a genuine treasure for fans of the show, and for fans of television in general.

With many interviews from cast and crew, and never before seen pictures, the authors truly spent many hours cultivating the perfect guide.
