Superb Wireless Motion Detection Security System
TLDR; Superb wireless, no subscription, motion activated only (no 24/7 function) hassle free security cameras.Installation - Really easy. Literally the hardest thing was opening the box! Handy mounting advice in the app, primarily about what height/ angle to fit etc.Picture quality - Superb. In truth, I don't notice a huge difference between 2k or 4k, however, 4k will allow you to zoom in 8 x rather than "just" x 4. Both day time & night time footage cannot be faulted. Some may quibble at the relatively low 15 frames per second limitation in order to not take up so much recording space, but the quality is still exceptional. Night time you have the choice of infrared/ black & white or colour by using the spotlight. Obviously the colour will use up more battery, personal preference, but I default to black & white & manually turn on the spotlight from the app if I want colour. As for the spotlight, you can set low, medium or high, at high I find it lights up a decent area to a decent degree. Obviously it is "just" a spotlight, not a floodlight (Aootek 2,500 lumens hard to fault if you need a floodlight).Motion Detection - Excellent. We have 3 cameras, front, back & driveway. The back & driveway are optimally positioned & flawless. It will pick up motion a good 25 foot away. We are still at the experimental stage with our front camera due entirely to our sub-optimal positioning of the camera, but even then it very seldom misses anything. There are various settings that you can adjust for each camera & while of course you can plug & play for those not inclined to faff about, for nerds like me ;-) you will want & dare I say enjoy optimising your settings.Battery - As others have commented, 6 month battery is at best a push for I would assume most people, though of course it depends on your settings, surroundings etc. We live on a non-working farm, but have a rural road that is effectively a main road in focus to the front camera. Our Driveway cam has a Diyarts 6W solar panel (brilliant by the way) which keeps it topped up at 100% anyway & this one gets the most usage from us. Even in cloudy weather & a shaded area with relatively heavy use, recording, logging in frequently to have a nose ;-), it's still at 100%. My back camera I often turn off as its just us & the dogs, but that loses roughly only 1% a day if that, but again when it's on I frequently check in. My front however has lost 35% in 3 days. I think this is due to having what is effectively a main road in frame & although I have set activity zones to account for this, I assume it must be on an almost permanent state of alert as it has detected (not recorded) over 5k events in around a week compared to under 200 on my other 2. Frankly I would rather this than missing things. It has taken a while to keep tweaking the activity zone to not get false alerts from passing traffic, but all part of the fun for me! Besides, if charging is an issue, there are options. A solar panel (Diyarts is magnificent), hanging an external battery charger as I do to save brining it in & having to reposition or a long lead from your mains. Our front is north facing so hardly any sun, but given how good our panel is in not dissimilar conditions on the driveway, I will almost certainly put up a solar panel for this one too. Currently hanging an external battery for an hour or 2 every week is not exactly a hardship. Our back camera would get pretty close to the advertised 6 month's battery.24/7 - Not an option so if you need that, this isn't for you. I do think it would be a handy feature for Eufy to allow this as attaching solar panels (or getting the next model up that come with built in solar) negates the need for the cameras to be low energy use. But the most minor of quibbles.Storage - It comes with 16Gb of data which assuming for most people it's simply homeowners, friends, families, pets, delivery drivers etc being picked up, we probably don't want to keep those. So regular maintenance to delete will ensure this is enough for most people. However, for the sake of around £35, you can get the excellent Crucial 1TB Solid State Drive - the quick one for techphobes ;-) which future proofs you.Summary - I agonised over what system to get & did more research than is probably healthy ;-) before settling on this. Really happy I did. If you can afford the Eufy 3, then the built in solar, IP67 v IP 65 rating & ant-theft is compelling. We intend to add further cameras to our system & will purchase these when they aren't over double the price. The Homebase will take up to 16 cameras, however Eufy recommend no more than 10 otherwise it may affect performance. But 10 will be more than enough for most people, certainly us! But this system is brilliant, comes highly recommended.

Great quality
Easy to set up and install. Picture quality is good and it covers a very wide area.Battery life is good if you don't have light and alarms set.Homebase memory soon starts to fill so I would recommend increasing the memory if possible.

Very slow detection rate, almost useless.
I have had Eufy cams since the beginning, I got the first batch that was made on Kickstarter in 2018. I was initially impressed with the product, especially the battery life but I soon discovered that there was a delay from the point of detection to the start of recording, This meant that there would be an alert from the camera being triggered but the video footage would be missing the first few seconds - which was plenty of time for someone to get across my property and try the doors on my car before the camera filmed them, ending up with the back of someone as they left the property. This has happened on numerous occasions.I decided to get an upgraded and improved Eufy cam, the S300 3 C. I stayed with Eufy because I figured that they should have improved the response time by now and I like that you don't have to pay any monthly/annual fees. I bought a 1Tb hard drive to expand the memory of the home base. The setup was very straightforward. Out of the box it probably took 15 minutes, but I was already quite familiar with the brand and their setup method. The home hub is connected directly to your router and then your cameras pair with the home hub and the app on your phone. After that you set the field of view that will trigger an event and set the sensitivity. I liked that you could exclude pets, cats foxes etc from setting off the camera. The AI used to identify friends and family is quite impressive. I wore different hats, glasses, etc and the system recognised me every time. Because of the 4k HD the picture quality is superb, even in low light. You also have the option to zoom in on quite a large scale. But, my one and only gripe is still the delay in recording. There are still about 2 secs before it starts to record. From the street to my front door is quite a short distance so a person is at my front door very quickly. The camera can only catch their face if they are taking their time coming across the drive. This probably wouldn't be a problem if my drive was longer and the camera had time to catch someone walking. I had tried fiddling with the sensitivity and the recording area but it doesn't seem to make much difference other than it starts recording every car, person, dog walker etc going past the house.6 months later the unit is not recording the front of the house camera and occasionally the back garden doesn't record. I've changed the sensitivity settings many times and the trigger area but it makes no difference. I'm now having to reset the homebase unit almost daily, sometimes twice a day. For this much money I expect the device to at least do what it is meant to - record activity, not record and miss most of it or not record at all. Unfortunately I'm out time for the return date. The camera tech is great but the product is appalling. I can see why people use Ring Doorbell Cameras. Save your money people and get something else.

Great app with easy to use UI
Great quality cameras. The app is really easy to use and no fuss in getting the rest of the family on the app.
