Exciting, gripping and based on true espionage events in Germany. William Holden is Ameican oil man based in Sweden. Becomes embroiled, by the British, in relaying German oil plans to the British. Love rears its head with the usual consequences. A spy drama worthy of the highest accolades. Mystery who this is a sleeper! Possibly not promoted enough. Co-star the beautiful, and ever releable, Lille Palmer. Hugh Griffin shows his face.

It has Everything I want in a Film
I remember being overcome with emotion when I first saw this film in the theatre. It has everything I like in a film: powerful scenes, first-class acting, a setting unfamiliar to me personally (Stockholm), and honorable people up against it, dealing with life in perilous times. Far more interesting than wicked people making even more wicked decisions. I also believed in the love story, and the photography was excellent.
