Praktica PRA099 Luxmedia WP240 Waterproof Digital Compact Camera - Blue (20 MP,4x Optical Zoom)

I bought this for my daughter and her husband as part of their wedding gifts ready for their belated honeymoon. I was impressed with the overall look of the camera and it seemed very similar to another brand I had purchased for myself. My daughter and her husband were really happy with it and after they returned from their travels I had the following message:We got some amazing underwater photos on our catamaran and snorkel trip! The settings were easy to use and we decided to leave it on underwater mode to save us getting carried away and forgetting to change it over. The quality was really good considering our tour day was a bit hazy first thing, but the camera held its own when we were taking pictures of the landscape along the coastal route we took. The zoom was fab, the different photo options under underwater were handy as we had 2 different snorkel sites - one shallow to deep with lots of rock and another really deep with lots of sand, but the camera still held its own in any lighting and even quite deep down. Only thing was that the battery was nearly out (kept getting warnings) when we were at the end of the trip - so about 8hrs in. Not bad but it did mean we couldn't record the volcano springs. Only downside is it is quite heavy for a handheld digi-camera which meant we had to get creative with the wrist strap to make sure we didn't loose it whilst swimming. The pictures have come out incredibly and we will be framing a few of the shots we got!Would highly recommend it, but worth buying a wrist float for anyone looking to use on sailing/snorkel trips.

Only had a short time and took photos on our Kayak trip which are ok but wouldn't say great. The optital zoom is a good point and no juttter taking the shots. Movies are looking just as good..Havent been underwater yet hence knock off a star but will update and hopufully give the star back.It's a simple point and shoot camera that gives good shots and I am impressed so for considering the price sub £90 . watch this space for further update as | go diving..

Excellent camera for price good photos, easy to use

My daughter was delighted with this camera, but this soon led to disappointment as each time she fully charged it, and took it for a little photography trip the battery died within 10 minutes. She had taken no more than half a dozen pics. I’ve since had to order a new battery and hope this solves the issue. Otherwise it will be a complete waste of money. A real shame as there are loads of great features, and it’s great for kids.

Camera is smart and easy to use but the non-retracting lens makes the whole thing bulky.Images are on a par with other cameras at this price level.Overall, let down by an apalling battery life and non standard charging port, so you can't afford to forget the original lead - keep it handy.Bought as a present, missed return window and certainly wouldn't uy this brand again.

Whilst I’m happy with the camera, I was disgusted when I opened the box and found a chewing gum glued to the packaging as can be seen in the pictures.

Brilliant buy, did think for the price it might mot be too good, but picture quality great and battery life good!!

Tout d'abord, la prise en main est agréable, mais sa finition est assez cheap, la batterie de 500mA (!) et pas de carte mémoire SD, il faut du micro-SD (Bonjour la lenteur...)De plus, pas de cache objectif, elle prend vite poussière, donc un étui (non fournie) est indispensable.Parlons en de la qualité de photo :Elle est catastrophique. Le flash se déclenche trop tardivement par rapport à la prise de vue. De plus, il y a trop de bavure, les couleurs sont ternes, et le délai entre les prises de vue est extrêmement lente (4 à 6 secondes).Quand au vidéo, elle est plutôt correcte.Mais je suis trés déçu de mon achat et je suis obligé de retourner à Amazon ...
