Live In Concert At The Capitol Theatre [DVD] [NTSC]

With the Moody Blues now effectively just a part time touring act, Justin Hayward has been very busy over the past few years revamping his solo career launched with the excellent 'Spirits Of The Western Sky' CD in 2013. This DVD follows a similar pattern to the highly successful 'Spirits Live' release from 2014 but with a revised setlist (including Moodies gems that the band doesn't cover such as 'It's Up To You' and 'You Can Never Go Home') & added bonus material in the shape of new epic song video 'The Wind Of Heaven' plus impromptu 'backstage' versions of 'Blue Guitar' and 'Who Are You Now'. Again it is the stripped down acoustic performance and again it demonstrates the strength of Hayward both as a magnificent songwriter and relaxed singer / player without the larger scale production of a Moodies show. If you love The Moody Blues / Justin Hayward - you will love this.

Anyone who saw Justin's recent tour with Julie Ragins and Mike Dawes will know what to expect. Good concert dvd, very similar to what I saw at The Sage, Gateshead. good choive of material. Just what most fans would want and expect. The extras, 2 backstage songs and the new video are also excellent and add something to the package - not just added to beef out the whole thing. Must admit I don't think much of the cover thpough.

DVD description says region 1 but copy I received was region free & able to watch in UK great live performance great reminder of of concert in new Brighton on uk tour also bonus of acoustic version of blue guitar & who are you now includes video of the wind of heaven . Justin looks relaxed and happy on stage great performance & DVD.

Seen his three tours so far and they have been excellent, if you haven't you need to buy this, full of classic solos and vintage Moodies tracks. Great Xmas pressie if you haven't already indulged that is, if so what are you reading this review for, you already know its good..

Highly recommend this.. worth every penny... Hayward virtually gets a standing ovation for every song... The sound achieved by the trio is amazing... The female on keyboard virtually replicating the sound of the Moody Blues on her own, and the young guitarist is brilliant... Hayward is Hayward, just his brilliant self...

I've been fortunate enough to see Justin Hayward live on two occasions and now that I have this DVD I can watch this exceptional, and often under-rated, singer-songwriter in concert whenever I want. Long may his touring days continue!
