Murach's Visual Basic 2012: Training & Reference

I'm not a professional programmer so I can't compare Vb to C++. The book get's right to the heart of what you need to know about the VB.net language. It is easy to follow and find reference information 'on the fly'. I particularly like the fact that the auther stick's with a project and builds on it, adding more complex concepts and feature’s as you progress. You find yourself creating a full-featured, professional looking program that you can lift whole code segment’s out of and modify to suit your specific needs. As a side note, I called the publisher for some specific information about the book. I was surprised when the phone was answered by a real, live person who was courteous, polite and most of all, helpful. Hat's off to Murach Publishing -- THANKS --.

I’ve looked through a few Visual Basic books, but this one is the best I’ve seen on explaining the little nuances of the Visual Studio features for the language. This is a great book to start you out with the basics. The reading is so informative and this book will make a great reference for future use.

This book is awesome. I love the fact that one side of the book is description and the other side is an example in each topic throughout the book. Alao, the simplicity of this book makes the study even easier. Thank you Mr. Boehm.

Great books from Murach--my go to book for upgrading older programs to newer VS SDKs.

If you need rapid learning programs and you have knowledge of programming this book is for you, because the right page has a summary of the left page where you can use it as reference. I recommend it. I love it

Visual Basic is not the hardest of languages, but this book definitely makes it understandable for everyone. Very good theory-practice lay-out, introduces you to the basics and takes you further so it is a suitable book for beginners AND experienced Visual Basic programmers. Really recommend this if you want to get more out of your VB.NET experience :)
