Apple Carplay Wireless Adapter Dongle for Car's Original Wired CarPlay
My 2020 Honda Passport has Apple CarPlay, but it's not wireless. My phone has to be plugged in the whole time for it to work, and I hate having to plug and unplug my phone. I honestly end up forgetting my phone in the car as often as not. I ignored the CarPlay feature for the longest time because it wasn't worth the hassle. But then I learned that adapters exist, and this has been a total game changer! This adapter works great! I plug it into the USB outlet in place of the charging cord, connect to it to my phone's Bluetooth and the CarPlay functions work almost as well as if it were plugged in directly. I do notice a little bit of a lag if I am switching songs too fast, but we’re talking tenths of a second here. I’m also really impressed that all the built in vehicle music control functions on my steering wheel despite the relay. That’s pretty dang cool. The initial setup only took a few minutes, and since then my phone remembers the dongle, and the Bluetooth connects automatically every time I get in the car, usually before I've reached the end of my driveway. I’ve been using this adapter a couple weeks and had no complaints! My only note would be that the dongle's wire is kind of stiff, and you can see in my photo how it impedes one of the cupholders where it’s plugged in. But I’m happy to sacrifice a cup holder for wireless CarPlay!

Perfectly adequate if you're not an idiot.
Don't be stupid. This thing isn't going to magically give your '93 Accord Apple CarPlay. This only works if your car is previously equipped with wired CarPlay. All in all, not too bad. It does the job as advertised in my 2019 Nissan Leafe. Connecting to CarPlay is as easy as connecting to a Bluetooth device from your phone. Switching between devices can be a little challenging at times, but it's no worse than changing Bluetooth devices on your stock system. Reliability has been good. I've only see CarPlay fail to start once, but then it started on its own a few seconds later, which is more than I can say for the wired CarPlay. I feel like the wired one never connects first try.I only have two small little pet peeves with it.One is that it doesn't use a standard USB-A (the rectangular one that everybody is used to) out of the box. You have to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter. I knew that going in, though, and it's shown in the item image so it's not a huge issue. The other is that there seems to be about a second delay from action performed on the screen executing on your phone (playing, pausing, skipping ahead in a podcast). I don't know if this is just how it works with wireless CarPlay, but it is noticeable and kind of annoying.

Not what I was hoping for
I have mixed feelings about this product. It does work and it gets the job done, but every time that I use it, I can’t get it to connect to my phone automatically. I have to pause and get my phone to find the Bluetooth and the process of connecting honestly takes a couple minutes. Which doesn’t seem like it would be a big deal but it’s just inconvenient when you are trying to get in the car and go. So does it work, yes. But would I really recommend it, no not really.

Carplay
Vehicle has to have CarPlay. Will not work if you do not have CarPlay.

Wireless CarPlay Adapter
Even though the packaging says it is designed for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, it also says this is only intended for Apple devices, so this was somewhat confusing. I do not have an Android device to test if it will work with this or not.I like that this device uses the newer USB-C plug but also comes with an adapter for the standard USB-A. Thus makes it more universal as newer cars will start using the USB-C outlet. Setting up my iPhone was very simple pairing it with my Hyundai Sonata which came with a factory installed CarPlay which is required for this to work. The adapter is very small and comes with adhesives so you can attach it to your car. It powers on when the car starts and quickly connects with my phone. So far after a couple months I have had no issues with it and am very pleased with it.

Update: Love it!
Bought this to try and link to my son’s after-market car stereo that has CarPlay. It wouldn’t work so I can’t say if it’s a yay or nay.**Update** I bought a car that has CarPlay but requires the phone to use a cord. Using this allows for immediate and seamless connection without plugging the phone in. Two weeks after I started using it, a friend bought the same car model (different year) and expressed disappointment at needing a cord to connect. I recommended this device by sharing the link and she texted a couple days ago to express how great it's working for her as well.

Works well.
So far it has worked flawlessly, it connects right away when I turn the car on and I’ve noticed no lag in using the apps. It is very small and easy to stick to the console near the USB port. Just what I needed to turn my wired CarPlay into wireless.
