Hmmm... it depends on personal preference, they are the same material of Cr steel, cr-mo ratchet head, 4-piece set has an additional 3/8'' ratchet -4.9 inch length than 3pcs. 3-piece set just has a 1/4'' ratchet - 6.8 inch length; 3/8''-10 inch length; 1/2''-11.6 inch length.
