With the RubyLux 2nd Generation Red & Infrared LED Bulb, you get: More light intensity, Shorter session times with more effective results, Hands-free use. The RubyLux 2nd Generation Red & Infrared LED Bulb is comprised of 5 high-intensity light emitting diodes (LED’s). As with other RubyLux bulbs, this device is designed to fit into standard US lamps or light fixtures, which makes it a convenient, powerful option for at-home use. This bulb requires only 5 Watts of power to operate effectively. Although it requires very little energy, it produces an extremely intense, diffuse light that can easily treat a 2 to 3 inch area hands-free. The Red is 660nm and the Infrared is 850nm. Best of all, the bulb’s light intensity allows you to get even better results faster than 1st Generation RubyLux Bulbs. The RubyLux New 2nd Generation Red & Infrared LED Bulb is available in 120V (such as the United States and Canada), and in 220V (such as Europe, Pacific Asia and Central/South America).

Lots of power packed in a small bulb!
This product is perfect for facial applications as well as scalp etc. Don't be fooled by the size it packs plenty of punch.

Not sure if infrared works
Red light works fine. I tied checking to see if I can see the infrared light through my smartphone Camara, but the LEDs didn't apear to be working as they didn't light up through my phone. The red light works great though.

Really helped pain in my hands and wrists
I bought this for my carpal tunnel syndrome and shoulder problems, and it really helps with the pain. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and its reduced my pain significantly. Unfortunately, it is small and hard to position over my shoulder, so I mostly use it on my hand. However, when I did have it over my shoulder for muscle cramps (my partner held it), the pain went away. I have never had this level of pain relief, even with a heat pad or ibuprofen, and I've had this pain for nearly 20 years. I used it on my partners sore shoulder, too. He was very skeptical, but now agrees that it helps for pain (but thinks I'm wasting my time for wrinkle therapy - only time will tell). The bulb warms up significantly after about 10 minutes, and while it doesn't get burning hot, its too hot to hold against the skin. The directions on the RubyLux website say not to hold it closer than one inch, anyways. The bulb cools down very quickly once it's turned off. It's small enough that I bring it to work (with the cord) and use it when I'm typing or mousing too much. In the evening, I use it for on my facial and neck wrinkles.I liked it so much, I ordered another one for my mother-in-law since she also has carpal tunnnel syndrome. I'll follow up in ~2 months with a wrinkle update.

Not using them for what they were intended.
I use three bulbs simultaneously on knee and hip pain on days I cannot make it to use an near/far/infrared sauna. Using the bulbs for 15 minutes on one spot seems to make a difference in levels of pain. I am happy with the bulbs.
