Whether kept in the car or in your backpack these do come in very handy & tend to outlast with aplomb their use by dates (usually 2-3 years, i've used them succesfully 4+ years after best by date) ..they provide a handy "see me" level of light to get you out of a fix, I prefer the yellow & orange as they appear that bit brighter in terms of overall luminosity, whereas the red is often duller (reason unknown) even if they all state 8 hours.With many of these (& this brand) I have had a level of luminosity & degree of usefulness last over 24 hrs.i've used them underwater as markers, in the back of my ski goggle elastic on a white out day to help those in our party follow & track my movements (having better goggles) & when my bike light failed.Many uses, buy a few & stick them in a drawer, car, or with holiday & sporting kit...Too good for raves, this is proper military grade (but good) product.
