I have the original HackRF One from GS - purchased through Nooelec, and bought this one to use the while traveling for work.I was pleasantly surprised to find that the HackRF included in this product is IDENTICAL to the original. Unexpected. Very happy.As for updating the firmware~ worked perfectly using the SD card method outlined on Github, which is the easiest.You'll need an SD card (not included) no bigger than 32GB or it may not work correctly - this is due to format limitations, not the product itself.Delivery was right on time and very well packaged. I was/am impressed.

Don’t know if it was the one I got but the RX was greatly shifted +/- .300MHz may even more (only test 100-900MHz). Tested Portapack H2 and HackRF with computer software. This was confirmed with a professional HP signal generator. Could have done more testing but did not want to waste more time. Did not get to testing TX.

I got this Portapak yesterday and have been very happy with it so far, the only problem I had was the ads-b was not receiving any Aircraft. I found out firmware version 1.8.0 had a problem with ads-b so I sent a message to the seller and asked if the unit can be upgraded with the standard firmware and they responded within a couple of hours and said yes it is upgradable. This is important as a lot of the units sold out there have to have a special way to upgrade them that is not supported by mayhem group. So you can buy this knowing that it is a supported unit.After upgrading to 1.9.1 I can now receive Aircraft on ads-b, the firmware upgrade is so easy just unzip the upgrade files onto the memory card put it in and select upgrade firmware, select the new firmware and in 15 seconds you’re done. Easy-PeasyNew, well after upgrading it to the latest firmware 1.9.1 and I got my ads-b to work I found out some of my other modes quit working like aprs and tpms that worked before the upgrade. So I went back to 1.7.0 that was on the memory card it came with and then tpms and aprs but not ads-b. Now some modes would only work is I was really close to a transmitter and others like pagers never worked. Anyway I played around with it until I decided to replace the Hackrf board with my real official Great Scott Hackrf and wow what a difference, now everything works I can hear and decode signals I could barely hear before. Now I didn’t have to do any frequency correction it was spot on where the other board was off frequency. If you ever have a problem flashing firmware onto the Hackrf disconnect the portapack board, the battery on the portapack was keeping me from resetting the Hackrf board after using the dfu app to fix a bricked Hackrf, after I disconnected the portapack board the Hackrf took a flash no problem. Once the you have the portapack firm on it you can then flash from the memory board. So I can no longer support this portapack , had to drop it 2 stars.

I contemplated a bunch of these and am glad I end up with this seller , device came within days , had all the accessories included , and the device was / is great and solid. Good choice !
