Does what it's meant to do
I realised a few weeks ago, as a consequence of increasing pain and discomfort that I had an inguinal hernia.A present, though uncomfortable, it is not yet dangerous. Without support, however, whilst I wait for surgery, it could become so. This truss seems to provide more or less exactly the support that I need. Certainly, walking or standing - which is where I am at risk - are now fine.I would certainly advise reading through the instructions very carefully. It might even be worth getting some medical advice on how to wear the truss. Fitting and wearing do take a little getting used to, since it sits across the hips - something I am not used to - rather than around the waist. It can feel a little odd at first. You might also need to play around with the smaller supporting straps, and it might be worth, if you don't have them already, investing in underwear that provides protection to the thighs. The straps can chafe against the insides of the thighs.

perfect for hernia pain
My son was unlucky enough to have two hernia's (at 21) his father had told him to put two pairs of socks in the front of his jeans to help with support! I preferred to surf amazon for help and check out the reviews! the reviews for this item were good and the price was ok. (well worth it, if it helped tbh) I ordered on saturday afternoon, it was delivered monday lunch time and on my son 5 minutes later. His comment was oh that feels wonderful! support where support was needed, he wears it over his boxers and only takes it off to wash it. (we may need another one while he waits for his hospital appointment) so, Great item and worth the £35.50, (as before, with the socks, the hernia had popped out when he coughed) Five stars given

Not the relief I was hoping for...
After reading the reviews I eagerly awaited the delivery and some welcome relief from hernia discomfort and improved mobility. whilst I am a 38"-40" waist I ordered the largest size 41"-44". When it arrived, I noted the lack of useful instruction in how to fit it / wear it correctly (On the hips not waist) and where to best fit the underslung straps. So with this adjusted I was surprised how small the belt is - I had it on the largest adjustment possible and it was still incredibly tight - too tight to be able to wear it whilst sitting down.I am quite active and find it best use is whilst walking on the treadmill or outdoors.Reading the great reviews I appear to be in the minority but this is my experience of this belt and I am disappointed that it hasn't worked for me.

Now wearing truss can carry on as before and hernia no longer limits activities.
Paramedic at GPs surgery who diagnosed second hernia and local pharmacist, both advised against use of truss, but having read other reviews I decided to give it a try, as had got impression that in todays climate, unlikely to see specialist let alone corrective surgery for some time. The instructions are not much help, I always lay truss on bed then lay on back on top and pull lower half ( with pad ) through legs and fasten to waist with velcro. The concave pad fits against the groin and when laying on the back the " groin lump " is at a minimum. I wear over trunks as velcro could be abrasive on legs / waist . Prior to obtaining truss , activities were limited and was wanting to sit down all the time as hernia was affecting bladder. ( thought I had a water infection.until I saw bulge in groin ) I wear truss most of day, can now virtually forget hernia.Well exceeded my expectations.

great hernia pain relief
I developed a hernia on my left side which caused me much pain when on my feet for any length of time. It got to the stage where I was finding it too hard to work . I thought I would give this belt a try. It wasn't the dearest or the cheapest but seemed to have good reviews and looked right for what I needed. It was easy to fix up the straps and once fitted you only have to remove the velcro on one side and slide it off like you would your boxers, therefore you don't have to fix the straps every time. I found it comfortable to wear I wore compression shorts underneath with a normal pair of boxers on top of them. I had no rubbing or discomfort at all even when worn all day at work. It stopped my discomfort straight away and enabled me to do a full days work without feeling any pain. At times I even forgot I had a hernia. Occasionally my hernia will still flare up but the belt enables me to carry on working I just take it easier on those days. I bought the double hernia belt as it looked more balanced and maybe more comfortable to wear and I thought it would give support to my other side . If you have a hernia that's causing you discomfort or pain please don't hesitate to buy this belt it will get you through your day and weeks until you can have your operation.

Fitting instructions
Having had 2 hernias over the last 25 years and knowing I'll have to wait some time for an operation I thought I would try this product. AH RELIEF AT LAST !! OK so when I'm swimming, sitting or lying down the belt is not required. Just ignore the fitting instructions as you would need to be a contortionist ! By trial and error get the belt to a comfortable fit and then simply pull up carefully over the hip. Gently push the hernia in and position the 'pocket'over it and then attach the leg straps.

Excellent product!!
Really good product,Having to curtail any form of activity due to constant pain I thought I would try one of these and was amazed with the result. Keeps my hernia in and so I'm pain free while wearing it. A little uncomfortable to wear for very long periods but using while walking, mowing the lawn washing the car etc the belt is invaluable. Not a cure in my case but of enormous help until I have my operation and probably for the healing period afterwards. Definitely recommend.

Unfortunately device does not hold in position
I have never reviewed before, but as I have been chased by supplier I can confirm this was a waste of money!Despite various attempts and different adjustments I cannot stop the belt slipping down over my backside, even at the tightest adjustment which leaves breathing difficult .I am happy to put this down to my physic rather than the product but it is obviously not going to perhaps suit people who have lost a lot of weight or are already on the thinner side.
